Isn't protein proven to reduce life expectancy, what is your personal thought on this?

Yeh the majority of advice for longevity seems to be on the low end for protein, a few years ago I followed Valter Longo's Longevity Diet for a video which I believe was around 1-1.2g/kg BW. Funnily enough, I was listening to a health podcast yesterday which said the original study that linked high protein with shorter life expectancy was flawed. Listen here from exactly 1 hour in drchatterjee.com/the-truth-about-sugar-alcohol-caffeine-protein-exercise-with-neuroscientist-dr-tommy-wood/ Dr Attia's argument is that one of the major causes of death in the elderly is due to frailty, so having a trip or fall and never recovering, and by increasing protein and being physically stronger you reduce the likelihood of this happening and are therefore more resilient. I'm a bit biased and give weight to anyone who tells me protein is a good thing as I've been on 2g/kg for the last 15 years 😀
