Our journey around Tasmania continues with us working our way down to the most southerly point you can get to by road. Cockle Bay must be the windiest place on the planet... it was blowing a gale when we were last there in 2002 and we suspect it hasn't stopped in the time between then and now!
We finally turn north again, stopping at some excellent spots along the coast, while the wind did its best to blow us, our caravan and 4x4 into the ocean.
The scenic East Coast lived up to it's name with some truly stunning places and we eventually got to Bicheno. A visit to the blowhole which not only was stubbornly refusing to blow, but also had a nasty surprise for Heather, that pretty much put the brakes on the rest of our holiday...
We did a little more exploring, but not camping in the way we wanted to and it was an anti-climatic finish to an interesting trip.
Throw in too much damn snow, which scuppered our planned final few nights at the amazing Waldheim Huts at Cradle Mountain and we chucked our toys out the cot and headed home a few days earlier. Our slow meander up the southern east NSW coast, turned into a pin-back-the ears dash back home...
