Does there happen to be a “The Bee Sting” boss, or perhaps “The Slept King”? Deep cut references I know probably no one will know what I’m talking about. Anyway awesome design on that boss!

Dude I’m just about finished with your Udemy course and I have to say it’s one of the best overall tutorials on making a game that I’ve seen. You covered such a breadth of topics and really set me up to finally finish my own. Thanks!

I think there might be too many effects happening on screen at the same time during incounters. I'm mainly referring to the orange and red circular explosions, they happen very frequently, is it also tied to the dash? Difficult encounters with lots of projectiles on screen might make it hard to read with so many circular effects. The game does look fantastic, and having the red direction lines and circles for enemy attacks does make it clear where enemies attack, but those other effects which may just be there to make interesting visuals, might need to be toned down a bit. Hope this feedback is helpful.

It would be cool if the death screen has the death text land on the player's bloody remains. Splashing blood everywhere and staining the text.

Thanks! It's Obsidian MD with the Obsidian Kanban plugin. I like it a lot, and it saves your boards to your local drive so you're not relying on a 3rd party to store your data.

Game is looking like a lot of fun! Regarding one of your last commentd about making all bosses spawning mobs, I disagree partially with this, in most arenas/roguelikes every upgrade should be good in at least one scenario or playstyle. If an upgrade is good at clearing waves then it doesnt always need to be good at killing bosses too. Many great examples in the best indie games such as binding of isaac, goathead to kill bosses, Enter the gungeon, use one gun to kill mobs, one to kill bosses. Many upgrades in binding rely on mobs dying or spreading damage over time but the trade off is clearing rooms faster to have more health for the boss where it will be weaker.

The game is improving well with each update. :) Note that you are better at playing your game then new-commer. Be sure to balance the game with play-testers. Anyway I wish you success and keep up the great work ;)

One thing I’m curious about is how hard this game is? Watching you play is like watching an experienced player play enter the gungeon. Hopefully it is not so hard that it discourages new players. Best of luck !

Difficulty is going to be a big piece of feedback I'll be looking for when the demo releases! I like how Tiny Rogues does difficulty, where the player can opt-in to harder modifiers. I will probably do something like that.

Looks great! I'm just not sure about the shop interface. That scrollable list isn't very intuitive/browsable to me. As for the end of level stuff, maybe find some way for that stuff to spawn in differently. My immediate thought was one of those drilling transports from TMNT, where one would break out of the ground, spit out stuff, and you could then hit some lever to make stuff get pulled back in before it departs. Or at the end of a region, make your character jump in. This could also be something like a magical elevator coming from the ground (Bill & Ted telephone booth, anyone?).

Aren't devlogs usually clicked by game devs already? Do your metrics really tell you otherwise? I'm real curious. Cause you talk like your audience aren't game devs.
