This is a time-lapse demonstration using soft pastels to paint a beach wave. I demonstrate how to start with a base of pastel color and then blend it with a brush and isopropyl alcohol for a solid base of color.
Beginning with an alcohol wash technique works well for painting more realistic and translucent waves on the beach.
