The first part of this video shows how I used a foam brush and acrylic paint to paint the raised, cast letters on the Post Drill. Keys to success included:
Use a new foam brush that is firm
A narrow brush worked best
Do not overload the brush with paint
Simply tap the flat part of the angled brush tip on the letters.
If you do make a mistake, use water to clean up and then come back to that area after the water has dried.
Use light coats and plan to lay another coat
Off camera, I sprayed the letters with a clear coat
The later part of the video is the assembly of the head unit, leadscrew and the down feed mechanism.
This restoration has taken longer than planned, but I'm happy with the results. Thanks for following this process along! 1 more video to go for the final assembly and reveal!
