I agree that the Kremer set is excellent! I love using it for landscapes. In fact I miss it if I try to paint landscapes with a different set. The manganese blue is stunning! I also have a pan from Dan ☺️ I really like these sketches of yours with blues and blue mixed in all elements and the vibrant orange roofs. They are so vibrant!

Dan's Manganese Blue is amazing and he has a PO49 version too! By now I have a full set of his handmade paints. The Kremer set fits is so wonderful, the red-yellow mixes are so vibrant and exciting! Need to look into that. :)

Teoh- Wow such a beautiful sketch. The kremer pigments are so vibrant! I'd love to see more video's featuring these paints or previous sketches you created with them? I heard Dan Barrett makes a very nice ultramarine blue but I have not tried it yet because of shipping costs. I might have to order it and the manganese blue 😍 Thank you for sharing this.

oooh this is so cool!! i kind of want to get my hands on some manganese blue myself, but it might be a little bit before dan restocks it. until then i'll ponder the hues available - as much as i dislike DS's current owner they do a pretty mn blue hue, and i'm curious about whether adding some granulating medium to it would help it look more like the genuine article :O the kremer paints look fantastic too! i really want to order from them and get a cobalt blue deep, plus some more fun granulating colours to noodle around with.
@LeesChannel

It was revealed that DS's Manganese Blue Hue actually contains fluorescent dye, something to be aware of as it means it is a fugitive paint.
@hershelroswell
3 жыл бұрын
@@LeesChannel the brightener they add might be fluorescent and fugitive, but the phthalo blue base itself most likely isn't and so will not fade. have a look at kim crick's video about it.
@LeesChannel
3 жыл бұрын
@@hershelroswell Any paint made with fugitive elements is itself fugitive. It doesn't matter if the other ingredients are permanent, the color of the paint will change. That's why it's fugitive. Meanwhile DS is not labeling fugitive ingredients, and still claim they are lightfast when they are not. Anyhow, as long as you are aware and okay with it it's not an issue.
@hershelroswell
3 жыл бұрын
@@LeesChannel i'm aware of this, and i know what fugitive means. i'm just saying that the blue bit of the mn blue hue is likely not going to change much over time (and this holds true according to people's independent lightfastness tests) i don't want to start a comment fight on a nice youtube video about a discontinued pigment, so i'm just going to end with a statement i think we can both agree on: pb33 is pretty as all hell and even if there are good reasons for it being discontinued it's still nice to see some of it around. :D
