This just like when Modern Drummer got the transcription wrong for "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" with Gadd's beat it was the same kinda hi-hat trick too. It's kinda funny

wait legitimate question: do you mean that you like that metal DOESN'T play "upbeat and happy music" or that you do like that metals DOES play "upbeat and happy music"? In either case your comment is lacking because 'Sound of Settling' by death cab is very light and happy sounding in tone. 'Grapevine fires' is the complete opposite.

@MrBrentR ..whhhhaaat? Playing Danny Carey polyrhythms is not easier than playing ONE sixteenth note of a groove with your left foot.

@ThomasMetal75 there's nothing emo about either. emo is just a misnomer for music that focuses on deeper stuff. it's just a phase that american music and culture is going through. and DEATH CAB IS NOT EMO. I didn't say anyhing bad about metal, and I could give two shits that you listen to it. I'm just saying that out of all the bands out there that label themselves as emo, death cab has never and will never consider themselves an emo band. don't reply to this, or I'll block the shit out of u.

@ThomasMetal75 death cab isn't emo, they're indie. just cuz their music isn't necessarily upbeat and happy all the time doesn't mean they're emo, they just write dark music. maybe u'd know that if u understood the genius behind the lyrics. just putting it out there.

I hate Death Cab for Cutie and any kind of emo music (I mean, look at my username), but his musicality is great.
