It's not that Sarah can't cite what newspapers or magazines she reads; it's that she avoided the question. And that's understandable since, as a politician, it would be unwise to indirectly endorse a news outlet. She's playing the game of politics just like any other politician. And as a politician, it's an absolute must that you keep up with as many news stories as you can. Sarah is most likely being honest.

I saw an interview with one Tea Party person in Nevada. When asked what he disagreed with in the Health Care Bill, he looked at the ground and said "Everything". Among educated people, that answer is a non-answer, a cop out - it doesn't say anything. It reminded me of Palin's answer when she was asked what newspapers she reads or information sources she uses by Couric. It's like listening to an 8 year old caught in a lie.

I am self-employed, 1099 form, part time. Would love to have a full-time job, as I am an IT professional. But even all my professors at chubb have been laid off several years ago, and hi-tech jobs are outsourced starting in 2000. Self-employed part time, and insurance as it costs now is unaffordable. I'm not alone, I have the company of at least 47-million Americans. In the richest country in the world, the only remaining superpower, that is a disgrace. A testament to corporate greed.

It is important. The question is important because it was rather to see how in touch she has been in the past few years with the news. Showing if she actually is up to par with events and rather not just now picking up serious politics and getting in touch with the world outside Alaska. A subconscious part of the question was to see if she has a biased opinion about news because of what news source she might be reading. All in all a good question because of the several levels of info you get

What his pland does is insure insurance companies wont' drop you, or force you to declare bankruptcy by sticking you with the bill, unlike other civilised countries, and the 47-million people like myself who are uninsured will finally not have to live in fear of illness or accident wiping us out financially, we can affordably get the SAME healthcare government officials in Washington DC get!
