How do you spot a panic attack? For many who have chronic panic attacks, or even just had one, it can be downright offensive to hear people throw around the term without actually experiencing it, or even really knowing what it is.
A panic attack is more than “going through a hard time,” and it’s more than feeling “overwhelmed.”
A panic attack is when your entirely body is overcome and paralyzed by fearful thoughts, whether or not they’re based in reality. They are also extremely hard to prepare for, hard to battle, and can be downright hard to explain to someone who has never experienced one.
Whether or not you’ve had a panic attack yourself, they are not fun, but there are some active things you can do if someone you know or someone you love has a history with panic attacks.
