I used to patrol at th Bush , and I was SO glad for each day that went by where people did NOT go n get lost in th outback. Even several of my patrol friends, who insisted on trying out these ledges, were really not skiing it in a manner that spelled "having fun" : When your so_called fabulous run involves stopping, traversing excessively and hockey_checking between every other tree, it aint convincing anyone of its merits. A run that actually permits relaxed turns, in continuum, is normally both safer AND more rewarding.

Everyone talks about how much easier west skiing is. Maybe on wide open powder runs but there's plenty of cliffs and chutes that take expert technique even with the powder. Picking your way down icy chutes might make for some skiing skill but certain conditions making skiing more difficult doesn't make it good

@@mtadams2009 The east has no choice but to make the best of a compromised situation. In the west, it is just way more fun, and that is what it is all about. Surviving an ice strewn trail isn't fun. I've done it many times. Skiing in good coverage is. It's that simple. Nothing personal.

@@easternyellowjacket276 I get your point but to be honest I have had some marginal conditions out west, especially the last twenty years. I have also had some incredible skiing too. The whole the east never gets snow and it’s always ice is complete f nonsense. Jay Peak has received over 325 this year alone and Killington about 200 so yes it snows. Last week we received over three feet and if you can’t have fun with that then there is not much I can say. We all can’t live out west but I still get 50 plus days a year and a lot of that has been very good. This is the year I should have gone to Alta or JH they have gotten hammered. My trip to Colorado was ok last year. There was no shortage of hard pack but we made it work. My last trip to JH was a complete shit show, rock hard and no snow to be had.

@@mtadams2009 One year back in the 90's when I skied at Squaw Valley for the winter, they had almost nothing until Mid January. So I get that sometimes they do have lean conditions out west. BTW, Jay Peak has not received 325" of snow, despite their outright lies. 352" would be 27 feet of snow. I know there are thaw cycles and rain events that will melt snow in eastern winters. Even taking that into consideration on non-snowmaking areas, there'd still be at least 10 ft still on the ground. And I've watched video in the glades recently of Jay Peak glades, and there is lucky if they have 2.5-3ft. It's a huge marketing lie on their part to get people to drive all the way up there.

Not to be discouraging, but I think you're in over your head on a lot of these videos. You're not really skiing anything so much as picking your way down it, start-stop, start-stop, start-stop. Maybe you could run these a few times, get familiar with the line, work out your path, then record a nice smooth run? This literally looks terrible.
@ThatPinkSuitGuy

As a younger skier, I haven't had the time to lap many of these runs. But I hear what you're saying, and this coming season I already feel a lot more confident in my ability. I have done this run several times (this video was my first time ever doing it) and now I breeze through the entire thing and it is definitely better content. (I recorded that run just last week but the gopro died almost instantly which sucks but oh well, I'll get it again). But I definitely hear what you're saying, and if you look at the videos I make this season, I think you'll see a lot less of that stop-start action.
