The NHS is fab but the government needs to put far more $ into both the number of beds & available staff. Once in there, folk receive wonderful care, however, penny pinching powers that be allow these deficits. A sick 95 yr old shouldn’t have to wait 41/2 hrs! Beth was adorable though. People pay taxes all their life, they deserve better socialised medicine that this!

Like I appreciate the fact that there are a lot of guys out there that are very abusive and the woman obviously nobody deserves to go through that but face it. There are a lot of guys who go through it as well.

I'm in the US and I am shocked that an ambulance is forced to wait with a patient for hours, therefore being taken out of service. In the US, the patient is taken to the ER and is then the ambulance put back in service. The patient will either wait in the ER or the ER waiting room. If the hospital ER is full, the out themselves on divert and the ambulance is routed to another hospital. I assume this is the difference between publicly funded and private healthcare.

Why was the woman who was assaulted have to get up and climb into the ambulance? That could worsen any injuries!The only time here in America you would be waiting in an ambulance for 4 1/2 hours is if you are in a very rural area, way off the beaten track, or in the aftermath of a major catastrophe, like an earthquake with a magnitude over 7.0.

I was wondering the same. They could’ve at least brought the stretcher out so she didn’t have to walk. Though they said that they wanted to get her into the safety of the ambulance because it was dark, rainy, and cold. It makes sense that they wanted to have her wait in the ambulance while they assessed her instead of waiting in the cold and in a potentially dangerous situation

This is insane 😡 , there have been a couple of times I needed go to hospital,but because of the situation the ambulance decided I was not sick enough to be taken to hospital 😵💫

So upset the poor DV victim is treated so poorly made to Sit up with head and rib injuries to get into the ambulance walking and the irresponsible kid underdressed on the bike is given pain relief and a backboard and carried on ?????????? Wow # Laura Richard’s
@fallenblade4150

She had rib and head injuries. She could walk, the kid on the bike was hit by a car and sent flying. He could easily have broken bones or even neck injuries which could paralyse him if moved. So obviously they had to carry him in the ambulance to avoid seriously injuring him.

Because she had no injuries to his legs? And if she did and was unable to walk she would have been carried into the ambulance. She was walking with support of two paramedics.

I have no empathy or sympathy or anything for people who choose to stay in abusive relationships if you’re not grown up enough to leave then what do you want the world to say for you?

What happens if the person has no financial ability to leave, no assistance from outside family or friends?? What if they grew up in the abusive situation after the death of a parent??? How are they supposed to run??? Or are you only in these comments to be unkind?? It's not always clear cut as to how to get away. I pray that no one that you love, is ever in a bad situation.
