France
We arrived in Paris at Charles De Gaulle airport, Terminal 2C.
There are several ways to get to the center of Paris from the airport:
* by taxi, the most expensive way, costs 50-80€ and there is a chance to get into traffic
* by city bus # 350 and # 351, travel time is about 60-90 min, costs 6€ per person
* by bus Roissybus, 50-60 min, 12.5€ per person, goes from the Airport to the Opera (Terminal 2A, exit 9)
* by AirFrance bus, 50-70 min, 17€ per person, goes from the Airport to the Champs-elysées or the Eiffel tower, at the terminal 2C exit A9 or B11
* by RER train, which connects directly to Central Paris station Michel Notre Dam, with a journey time of 25-30 minutes, costs 10,30€ per person
We chose the RER train as a quick option.
So, after arrival we left the baggage claim hall, on the left there was a kiosk where we bought a Museum Pass for 4 days, then turned to the right to the signs Paris Per Train RER.
Then we went down the escalator two levels down. There are a lot of vending machines for train tickets.
There are many consultants. It's enough to say "Bonjour! Help me to buy a ticket to Paris by train" and they will help you!)
If you decide to buy a ticket in the machine, it is better to pay by credit card (with chip), because the machine does not give the change (well, it gives the change, but it is not money, it's a special ticket that must be exchanged at the box office for money, and this process is not fast).
Information about Paris Metro RER
One ticket costs 1,9€, you can buy a block of 10 tickets - the so-called "carnet", it costs 14,19€ !
At each metro station there is a cash machine where you can buy a ticket. There are also offices with the French cashiers.
A metro ticket should be inserted into the turnstile at the entrance to the metro station. Turnstile checks the ticket and gives it back.
!! The ticket must be kept until the end of the trip, the inspectors go quite often. The penalty for stowaway is from 30 to 70€.
Besides, at some metro lines you will need your ticket to go out by inserting your ticket into a turnstile.
You quickly get used to the Paris metro and it is very convenient to use it, you can quickly get to almost any point of the city.
It saves a lot of time and in 8 days in Paris, thanks to the metro, we visited almost all the museums and popular places, some of them twice (the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, the Cathedral of the Sacre Coeur, the Eiffel tower, etc.)
We bought about 40 metro tickets for two persons, but initially we did not even plan to travel on it...
By the way, a very convenient program for smartphone is "Maps.Me". It has a detailed map of any city with metro stations, cafes, theaters, museums, shops, etc. In this program, you can create a route. In general, I recommend it!
I hope the information is useful to you, if you have questions ask in the comments below the video!
