sativa Maybe you are looking at it wrong in terms of the culture. Of course I’m not defending people that fix themselves to look black, no. These types are deranged and understand most people of any race are not like that and don’t want to be black. I’m talking about culturally. Look at it as it is part of American culture that people are sharing rather than black culture because black culture, like Latino culture and white culture is part of American culture. I mean American Latinos don’t look at blacks funny if they eat tacos or dance salsa, or have a low rider car. American whites don’t look at blacks funny when the women straighten their hair, dye it blond and get blue and green colored contacts or play basketball (a sport invented by whites and from their culture) or talk on the phone (invented by whites and from their culture) or wearing jeans, T-shirt’s, button up shirts, polo shirts, suits etc as this comes from their culture. These are all pieces of their cultures that has become mainstream that many other races enjoy and nobody is making a fuss. Blacks shouldn’t make a fuss if parts of their cultures have also become mainstream and other races are taking part in some of it. I think your state of mind is in the wrong place. It’s more focused on “us vs. them” rather than “we”.

Tyla Ilyse Harris Did you see me say I think it’s ok? Read the second sentence in my last comment it specifically says I’m not defending people like this. They are idiots. Dark skin was seen as ugly on black people especially black women for so long. Also when a white model black fishes, she takes away an opportunity from dark skin black women. I think its sad on both fronts some black celebrities have bleached their skin so much they look Caucasian. They also have the nerve to promote that product... healthy skin is beautiful skin, people should not be going to these dangerous measures to be something they are not. @cm. CG sorry I don't really understand what you're saying. My point is if SHE insists that the darker skintone is achieved naturally then why hasn't she looked that way in the past? As in, before this "transformation" people are accusing her of. This whole story has been brought into light so if a picture existed of her looking that way previously then I'm sure it would've been shown by now. Anyway, it doesn't really concern me. I think she's gorgeous no matter what. She should just own up to trying to look black if that's what she's doing.

There is a HUGE difference between wearing hair extensions and straightening your hair as a black women to assimilate into the western world to gain employment. You still have MANY corporate companies that consider traditionally ethnic hairstyles such as locs, braids, twists and Afros as unprofessional- they will not hire any black women wearing those type of "ethnic" hairstyles so what choice do black women have but to straighten their hair or wear a wig over their locs or afros in order to get a job in corporate America? This is called assimilation. And another thing: Hispanic is NOT a race. You have black hispanics that are ethnically black. You also have women who are 100 percent black in africa such as East Africans with more anglo type features and straighter/wavy hair and you have West africans, both black with no white mixture but have very different features and hair type. So if you see a black women with straight or wavy long hair, that might just be her natural hair texture if she is East African or has that mix (Somalian, Ethiopian and Etrian women fall into this category) Compare that to a white person who going out of their way to change their race and copy a culture because they think its "trendy" a style they can just wear for a year and forget a few years from now. People have a problem with that. The reason blacks have a problem with this is because the white race is already starting to coin full lips, darker skin and the desirable features that blacks have as a "white trait". It's already starting to happen and thank god they are being called out on it. Imagine if blacks did this in the 60's how powerful we would have been now instead of the victim "woe is me card" mindset we have so many blacks adopting. Being black might have been a struggle in the past but that is changing. Social media is calling out hypocrites, racist, blackfishers and frauds left and right.

When the british invaded India and Sri Lanka, they brought dominance and fear over South Asians. When they left, these poor people saw their light complexity as a way of proving their dominance and high status. This is just sad. No one should be changing their skin tone lighter. @@karmeeleon omg Yes I moved to Columbus Ohio and I've never seen anything like it. I've never seen anything like it. I've seen like a lot of indian in Columbus Ohio, of course not all but so many with the bleach skin and try to dress like Latino, at 1st I would see them and thought they were Latino but then when I hear them speak in their language I was like 😳 whata heck, and they really bleach it so much that I can tell many of them that I've seen be working In Walmart. I don't get why they are doing that to themselves 🤷♀️ but I guess I makes them feel good.

This ain't black face to me. The girl made herself look beautiful, not ugly in a ministrel show way. I would've felt it was blackface if she did it to make a mockery out of black and mixed women. For example, if she made her lips red and drew them across her cheeks to mimic giant lips and painted her skin coal black. Only then would I call it black face. I'm flattered she finds black and mixed women beautiful enough where she wants to look like them.

She’s using a black aesthetic to get her money. It’s blackface point blank. It reminds me of another instagrammer who uses photoshop so she can make her eyes more “asian looking” for the aesthetic even though she identifies as white.

There are more white women trying to look black then asian. That is why this is making the news. Any race can have Asian eyes, including whites. Russian women and Native women have the Epicanthic folds in their eye similar to Asians. The Epicanthic folds and Almond shaped eyes is not exclusive to the Asian race. Black features are distinct, the full lips, darker skin, body shape and ethnic hair is unique to black people or those with black ancestry. A lot of people say hispanics have those features too but HIspanic, as others have pointed out, is not a race. The "Hispanic" women with those features are ethnically black or have black admixture. It's obvious this white women, and many like her, are doing this to look black. I am a white male and even I notice this. The fish lip trend is looking terrible on white women but I do think it looks good on black women.

Daxx DelGado yeah, because since the beginning of time black women had to to hide their black features to be considered acceptable in society. For example, slavery. Black women had to hide their hair because the masters wife would get jealous of it. Another Example, black women would perm and relax their hair to make it straight in order to get jobs and look presentable because Kinky hair / curly hair was unacceptable back then. I don’t know if you noticed but Black people were taught for 100’s of years that their blackness was something to be ashamed of so can you really blame them for bleaching their skin to look like what society says is pretty?
