In this video I will explain and show how I process end grain work through my planer (with stock blades).
The most important aspects of this method are:
1. Getting your glue up as even as possible using Clamp-Saddle Jigs and Straightening Cauls!
2. Sacrificial endcaps to prevent any sniping on your actual workpiece.
3. Taking VERY light passes!
I understand that some woodworkers have strong opinions about this method (both for and against it). I personally haven't experienced any issues since using the sacrificial endcaps and taking light passes.
With all of that being said, most of the tools we use in the workshop pose some threat or risk of harm and injury. Please work in a way that feels comfortable and safe for you.
