Sir you mentioned in the video that you talked to technicians of both volkswagen and skoda regarding reliability of DQ200 gearbox with 1.8 TSI engine, I can tell you that my DQ200 with 1.8 TSI engine has been opened to change mechatronic within first 15000 kilometers of purchasing my Skoda Superb, but as you said this issue is less prominent in octavia which is why my octavia’s DSG has been functioning absolutely normally with same 1.8 TSI engine

Thank you for discussing DSG in TDI . Appreciate it. Since i own a 2017 Rapid TDI AT now i understand my car's TCU is remapped and i hope Skoda has given extra protection for the water logging situation which Munish mentioned. Will it be safe to say 1.5 TDI DSG should be best driven with a bit less enthusiasm after the end of the warranty period so that peak torgue is well contained My Rapid is in it's final year of extended warranty period and so far I haven't got any problems with my DSG infact I am extremely Happy with its performance. Always gives me joy when I am driving. I never mind the lack of sudden surge of power in first 1.5 seconds in a standstill situation. Can you please discuss how to ensure DSG in TDI work fine for existing Vento and Rapid owners like me who own remapped TCU DSG vehicle Since we would not own a new TDI DSG vehicle. Which is a shame. So how to ensure this DSG problem never occurs or is avoided. Appreciate if you can cover it as well.

To everyone, whoever on average needs city driving, bumper to bumper, less highway driving, they should go to 1.0 ltre. But that does not mean it is underpowered. It is only that your average speed over months will be around 40-60 kmph. But if you drive on highway everyday and over the months your average speed is 60-90 kph, then go for 1.5 tsi. Other than that if price matters then you know the answer.

its not about odd or even. in a 4-stroke engine the crankshaft makes 2 rotations to complete the 4 stroke cycle and 1 rotation is 360 degree which means 2 rotations is 720 degree. Power stroke covers 180degree out of 360degree and in case of 4 cylinder engine 4*90=720 which means all 720 degree rotation of crank is covered by power stroke. Even in a 5 cyclinder teh timing of 5 cylinders if offset in a way the power strokes of 2nd engine starts after 720/5 = 144 degree which means 1st and 2nd cylinder will have 180-144= 36 degree overlap of power strokes. Similarly in V6 we will have 60 degree overlap and in V8 we will have 90 degree overlap. however in a 3 cylinder engine there will be a total gap of 720-3*180 = 180 degree in complete 2 cycles of crank or a 60 degree gap after every cylinders power stroke. this causes 180 power, 60 no power 3 times in every 720 degree and power delivery is not smooth but has 3 gaps of 60degree in 2 rotations of crank. these power+no power phases cause vibrations and roughness. In case of 5 cylinder although its odd config still there is continuity in power which will add to refinement.

Bhai ji. Par jo company rocket tak bana rahi hai usko ye nahi pata tha ki tum dq200 diesel ke saath nahi de sakte? Gajab ka pagal banaya aapne is baat se. Aur ab bhi 1.5 tsi mein vahi dq200 jiski max torque handling 250NM hai, vahi de diya aur torque bbi 250. Ab to safe side pe hone ke liye 300 nm handle karne wala dsg kyu nahi diya? Build quality se paise bacha liye, part sharing, platform sharing sabse cost hi kam hui hogi. To DSG ko 250 NM ki bajai 300 NM wala daal dete to ek gaadi pe kitne crore extra kharch ho jaate. .i was expecting ki past failures se seekh ke company better degi. But vahi gear box dekar they have disappointed a potential buyer like me. I agree disesl jaise premature failure kam honge but 250 ki 250 capacity pe chalega to life to kam hogi ye pakka hai..50 nm ka safe margin le lete to kya hi bigad jaata. Customer ka vishwaas hi jeetna tha to TCU remap ki bajai gearbox higher segment ka de dete. Thoda margin kam aa jaata. Reputation theek ho jayegi to saari jindagi kamaana hi to hai. .saari galti customer ki thoda hai. 7 saal ki warranty de di accha hai. BUT GAADI VO JO DHOKHA NA DE, JARURAT PAR THEEK CHALE. RAAT KO FAMILY KE SAATH CHALTE HUYE BREAKDOWN KA DARR NA HO. BREAKDOWN HO BHI JAAYE TO LOCAL MECHANIC AAPKA JUGAAD KARKE GHAR PAHUCHA DE . BHAI RELIABILITY KO LEKE AGAR VW SERIOUS HOTI TO IS DQ200 KO JARUR DUMP KARKE EK SEGMENT UPAR KA JYADA TOQRUE HANDLE KARNE WALA DSG jarur deti aur customer ko aage badh kar prove karti ki maine BLUNDERS se seekh liya hai. .but again. Paisa paisa paisa. Cost cutting har jagah. 2.0 bhi 1 saal mein fuss. Uske baad Tata bye bye hoyega... Company ka fault jyada hai, customer ka kam. . पर INDIA है 3RD WORLD COUNTRY। चलो, all the best to VW

Since in recent times Indian automotive market has been shocking as good companies like ford are leaving. But thankfully, with all the detailed knowledge provided by you and G.O.A.T Manish ji 🙏It will really help Indian buyers make a good decision in next purchase. This series has been really really amazing!! Hope you bring more such content. Ek important Question tha sir, it would be really helpful if you answer this. Sir, New 1.5 tsi engines are brilliant, and come with “CYLINDER DEACTIVATION TECHNOLOGY” which is good for mileage highway runs but I have heard that with time these have a problem of “OIL CLOGGING.” Is topic pe please ek baar charcha kare🙏. Ki kaise in engines ki reliability ko improve kiya jaye…etc. Abhi tak kuch khaas issue nahi aaye hai is cheez se related since the cars are new. But still Agar kuch precautions hoge to New buyers like me (looking for 1.5 tsi but sceptical about long term reliability) ke liye kaafi helpful hoga!! Once again, big fan sir plz continue this knowledgable series.

Absolutely agree with Munish Ji that it was very stupid of VW to not cap the torque at 250nm for DSG with TDI engines. Also, why didn't VAG provide the DQ 250 instead of DQ 200 for their cars with bigger engines like the 1.8 TSI Octavia??? Their customers could have afforded paying some premium over instead of compromising the torque.

Regarding Octavia it's 1250 RPM where the turbo kicks in with peak torque of 250 Nm👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Brains of German engineers to use the cubic capacity and turbo to optimally gain performance and increase reliability

Great discussion but I had challenging issues with DSG as twice the Mechatronics got replaced. Once under warranty and second time recently I paid thru nose. Clutch and flywheel plus fuel pump too got replaced at 1.48 L kms. Bill was of ₹2.4 L. DSG is a treat but costly if anything happens

It's not an if. DSG has design fault and always breaks down, only a matter of time.
