Andy, we love your channel and are extremely impressed with the facilities your family are developing, a significant industrial dairy complex! After seeing so many daires leaving or going out of business in our area of the country due to development taking over farm ground, and/or envirmontal regulations, I sincerely hope it is possible to produce the needed feed for all of those cows, going into the future. All the best, Nick, North West Farmer (Oregon)

Any plans to move away from bulk storage tanks? My friends farm they only use semi milk tank trailers. Milk goes from the parlor to a chiller cools milk down to 34 degrees then is pumped into a waiting trailer. As you know the those tanks are extremely well insulated they have 3 days plus depending on the time of the year to move the milk to their local dairy. They do not own the tank trailers a Coop owns the trailers they provide logistics for moving their milk.

Hi Andy, is there any Government Grant available to Farmers in your State to install Solar Panels on the barn? I would imagine you have high electric costs for all your barns and the new milking parlor. It would be cheaper in the longrun to be off grid and actually with the roof size you have you could install enough panels to be selling electricity to the grid ontop of what you use. Just wondering if you have had a costing and projected pay back timeline considered before?
@robertquast9684
2 ай бұрын
Not sure in Andy’s case but others I know of that have checked into solar on dairy barn roofs the weight of the panels and related equipment make it difficult. The buildings typically aren’t spec’d with a high enough load rating and to get a 100 or 120’ wide building with the required ratings it gets quite expensive
