This is quick video which shows the comparative cost of running your generator using LPG or CNG to that of gasoline (petrol).
To run it with LPG (cooking gas), securely connect the kit to the gas cylinder using the standard pressure hose. Ensure that the end clips are well fastened so as to avoid leakages.
METHODOLOGY:
CASE LPG:
We weighed the 12.5kg gas cylinder by taking it to the gas station and its total weight turns out to be 17.8kg
This weight was taken as the initial weigth of the cylinder.
The cylinder was then used to run the Generator (2.5kw) for 2hours at about 40% loading.
The cylinder was taken back to the gas station again and the weigth was checked again and this time came out to 16.8kg.
The difference of the weight of this cylinder before and after came out to be 1kg.
CASE PETROL:
A 1L container was used as test fuel tank for the generator.
The reason for this is to be sure that the 1L fuel is completely utilized and also to be sure that there are no remnant petrol in the petrol tank.
The 1L petrol was used to run the 2.5Kw generator under 40% load of 900 watts and it only lasted for 1hour
Observation:
1L of petrol was able to run the generator for 1hour while 1Kg of cooking gas was able to run the same generator for 2hours.
1L of petrol sell for 578N in my area, today 27/08/2023 while
1Kg of cooking gas sells for 650N today 27/08/2023
Conclusion:
Based on the going rate of the pump price of petrol and the price/ Kg of cooking gas in my area, on this day, 27/08/2023, It is cheaper to run your generator using the LPG option of the tripple fuel carburetor converter than using the petrol option of the carburetor conversion kit.
