Hey there Harvey, thanks for sharing this with us. It’s a pretty neat build. You are a wise and humble man, and I appreciate that. I think we have all been “had” by a saw or few. And I agree that some of us could use a rebuild. I may be 40, but after 20 years of falling I could use a rebuild about know. I’ve been there with the mufflers before. It’s no fun when you’re a mile above the truck and the muffler falls off and you have no idea where the cap screws are. I hope you have a great weekend coming up! So glad to hear Barb is feeling better. But still praying for her and her daughter. I hope you and Cullen get so time in the shop over the weekend. Thanks for what you contribute to the KZitem and logger community.

I'm thinking this may end up as his primary saw. You will likely get his other saw for a 'tune up' after he runs this for a day. With 30 degrees of rotation before the transfers open, this will really build crankcase pressure. Incoming charge will be a bit higher velocity than normal. Looking forward to the results here. The old German single and two speed, reed induction mopeds had similar transfer timing. Without multi-speed transmissions they needed a broad torque curve, perhaps that's how they achieved it. Can't wait for dirt biking! Snow is all but gone up here. Won't be long.

@@theironhorse6600I machined the piston to achieve .021" of squish with no base gasket. I have raised the exhaust to open @ 99 degrees atdc. I took nothing off the intake floor. The piston skirt doesnt clear the bottom of the exhaust but I guess ive backed myself in a corner with no base gasket = more intake duration.
