Beautiful! Path pilot conversational is so quick and easy to do! All 3 times I have used it! LOL! Thanks for sharing Craig, great video!

+Tim Robel - Thanks Tim! Yeah, easier then I thought. Great for a quick facing operation. Have you had any luck with pocketing in Pathpilot? I crashed and haven't tried again.

+Craig's Machine Shop I have just faced and slotted with it right now. I do plan on doing a pocket soon, just so busy with other things. Do you know what you did wrong to cause the crash?

+Tim Robel - Yeah, chip weld. lol All I had was a 4 flute carbide. The pocketing method was odd also. I'm use to a circular ramp in. The one in pathpilot is kind of square. Start with a light depth of cut and see what you think.

I find your explanation to be very intuitive, I just received my 770 on friday and have been non stop trying to figure everything out. Thank you for this video, I would love to see you do a series on each of the operations within conversational mode if possible

Thanks Jason and congratulations on the 770! I wish I had the time. I am on the verge of going full time with manufacturing. I hope to make more videos in the future.

Sounds like it is heavy on the spindle. On 8:50 you can clearly hear the load, how much is the rpm dip and how many hp is used?

+Ricard Rinaldo - Yeah, that was before I found out about the affect the VFD has on the HP of the mill. The max HP on my mill is around 5000 rpm I believe. At 1700 rpm I would have been limited to around 1/3 of the 1 HP. I still have to do some testing and will make a video on it.

Why just 70%? I go 100% at work. Is this a limitation for the Tormach?

Hehehe, Yep. You might want to go a little bit less aggressive. Less doc and higher feed The motor definitely has limitations..

Hey Craig, do you like the face mill or the shear hog better?
@craigsmachineshop2040

+Crivo152 - Definitely the shear hog! The Facemill will be for facing steel since the shear hog is for aluminum.

Sorry Craig, I meant to ask about the fly cutter, but sheer hog came out instead.

+Crivo152 - Oh, the shear hog is definitely better on aluminum. The facemill will be for steel.
