Patrice rejecting Kevin's offer to go eat is priceless, kevin wanted to prove he still hangs out with his old friends live in air and patrice said kevin left everybody behind, and the worst part is patrice saying he isn't even mad about it, meaning he knows what kevin is and that must hurt, that's why I love Louis ck, at the heights of his fame he put every one from that scene on his show, Bobby derosa dipaolo Keith etc..., he put norton on his sitcom

To make it in entertainment industry, you have to get initiated. Kevin was initiated Opie was initiated (then revoked) Ant was brought from the gutter, initiated, his initiation revoked, and now he's on probation/purgatory with his compound media project Patrice wanted to be initiated, but he never had the needed qualities (sycophancy etc) Same for Colin Quinn...talent alone gets you only so far. Infact talent is NOT the most important metric...or else we would not have heard of Opie in the first place.

It's not that complicated..you can keep your integrity and only do standup (not getting rich), or you can sing and dance for Hollywood execs and make shitty (but hugely profitable) movies. All Kevin Hart's movies suck, but the mall-walking masses of boomers, Karens and children flock to see them. Chappelle sung and danced for a while, but got sick of it and walked away.
