Ok, I have to comment. I listen to hard rock and alternative rock. Never been a fan of country music, especially the newer kind. But DAMN ... this video, with Patsy's singing, grabbed me from the inside and didn't let go. Moved to tears. What a talent. Thankfully we have her recordings to remind us of what a voice can do, without the tech-driven emotionless junk we hear today.

I agree with everything you have to say here. It’s one thing to be a good performer, but she was such an innovator. I can only image all the young aspiring singers the tried to copy her style to only fail. I’ve always have wondered, that little “dropout” in her voice, was that intentional or just a natural flaw, if you can call it that. If it was a flaw, she mastered it and used it with great effect. Not to mention her impressive vocal range.

My grandfather was a huge fan of country and I would hear him listening to patsy on his radio on the porch. My grandmother was a big gospel type and sang in the church choir. So gospel is what was played on the stereo most of the time. Cline was big. A small but maybe unknown footnote is that she was popular among black folks, most of who refused to listen to country because at that time would not sign black artists. Even Ray Charles who started playing gospel and country couldn’t not do a country record until he was a huge star, and it was against what the label wanted. Northern whites distanced themselves from country music that was seen as unsophisticated. Yet she crossed over anyway. Once in a lifetime voice. Been listening to all types of music for 52 years. I’ve heard them all and nobody sounds like these artists....Karen Carpenter, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Freddie Mercury...and Patsy Cline. Ironically, only Franklin lived past 40. Angels sent to leave their gifts then get called back.

Where do I start.....Patsy Cline was perhaps the greatest singer in the world....She was the Elvis Presley of our time ....She and Presley were the two most influential singers of the century. Presley made Rock music acceptable- Cline made Country music "available" to everyone who had never heard anything quite like her..she could do a Hillbilly Hayride and a week later do Carnegie Hall in New York....she was magic....She died in a horrible plane crash in 1961 I think and her voice is still not replaced in Nashville....there was and will be no one quite as good as Patsy....ever.

Patsy Cline being one of them. Now that im older i still listen to her. My wife whom didnt listen to a lot of country music but listen to hip hop started listening to Patsy and fell in love with her song. When we got married i dedicated Patsy's True Love to her. There is no voice in my mind that can top Patsy. Take way too soon. We all love you Patsy. May you sing with the angels in the lords choir. Rest in peace!

When the movie, Sweet Dreams was out at theaters.... she inspired me thru her strength in mind, body and spirit! I have had my share of heartaches that she's seen me thru, but one of the few good memories I have of my ex David is when he keyed up his cb-radio and everyone on channel 23, heard me singing along with the late great Patsy Cline. I didn't know everyone was listening until I was finished singing and people were saying great job and was asking who it was. I was embarrassed but proud too, when he told them all it was me! She was a legend in her own time, but I think she would be truly amazed as to what extent she is revered. Sweet dreams and R.I.P. Patsy Cline.

Hi From Australia: Patsy Cline just sings do effortlessly - no forced notes - The beauty of 20th century American country music in particular to me is the masterful story telling. I think Patsy Cline was already gone from this old world before I knew of her - I would have been 10yo the year of the plane crash and probably heard her for the first time on vinyl LP in my early teens. - There are not many dedicated county radio stations in Australia so air play was limited but these days with the internet a person can listen to radio from around the world and of course KZitem puts image to the voice. This documentary was produced in 2005 - 15 years ago and it's 57 years since the world lost Patsy - but her music continues to resonate with those of her time and with maybe not all but at least some members of each new generation as they come along. Thanks for the memories.....

When her plane went down in 1963, I was 13 & all of us South Georgia Country Folks mourned her loss. We might not have been able to spell it, but we knew we'd lost something very dear to us. I didn't even know what she looked like, back then, but I knew the words to all of her Hits, and sang them to myself working on Daddy's Farm. I think I first "Saw" Patsy on the Ed Sullivan Show that we got on our one TV channel, shortly before she died, but I'm not certain all these many years later. What I'll always be sure and certain about is that there has never been a female singer in Country Music that equals Patsy Cline. She'll always rest among the other Great Ladies of song, such as Etta James, Lady Day & a very few others, and the South Ga Country Boy in me Must rate Patsy as The Greatest among the Greats, but admit that to do this is like choosing the best of Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Picasso & other folks who do stuff on Canvas, Paper or Marble that I don't understand, but recognize their Greatness
