He brings out the rythmic subtleties. Wonderful clarity as well. A true master.

The Fabbrini piano played by Paul Badura-Skoda is in fact a Steinway, but has a clearer timbre and a more marked distinction between notes, with metallic overtones. I asume it was selected by Badura-Skoda, who was known for playing older instruments in accord to the times of the composer, in this case Mozart. It was part of his research on evolution of musical sound and instruments. Thanks for posting.

Interesting, and I agree about the clarity of the timbre, but what is a Fabbrini which is in fact a Steinway ?

@@jeanpaulchoppart6818 " Italian piano technician and entrepreneur Angelo Fabbrini, from Pescara, Abruzzo, purchases new Steinways from that firm’s celebrated Hamburg atelier and subjects them to minute technical fine-tuning, replaces or substantially rebuilds numerous crucial action components, and reworks the interaction between strings, bridges, and soundboard." This is according to Nicholas Greenleaf. Thanks for your comment.

Totally underrated. One of the great pianists of the last century. Note the piano not Steinway but Fabbrini.

Only Mozart sonata in Licentiate exam syllabus because of its difficulty. The canonic sections are indeed challenging. The last movement marked Allegretto is more convincing when played Allegro brilliante with those semiquaver triplets in the left hand another challenging hurdle at top speed. It displays the study of Bach’s music that Mozart did later in life. Not that often played. Played here impeccably by the Maestro.
