Holy fook, I've just found this video in 2024 and there he is on stage "giving it large", my Punk Metal King, Paul Di'Anno. Us ol' Punk Rockers still love you, big fella, keep on rockin', you'll always be our Iron Maiden number one 😎🎸👊🏻.

@@StaticYonder You might be "right " (whatever that is ) since I feel some bias on my behalf ...having grown with the band which recorded "Killers " I was always very disappointed in that replacement ...at the time I was really disappointed in "Number of the beast " too... much of the band´s strength and spontaneity was gone . Sure, Huge commercial leap ,fancy 70s Ian Gillan school type of singing featured too ...the attitude and grime was gone for the most part though . But hey, that is how I experienced it. No more or less valid than the way you did /do...

I think it's a generation thingie. I was lost as a teen, I bought the first Maiden album because of the album cover and was blown away by the music when I dropped the needle into the vinyl. It released energy in me I had no idea was there. It rocketed me into a world of graphics, language and esoterics. My life would not have been the same without the first two Maiden albums. Bruce simply took over, but was never the thunderflash Paul was. Bruce is too studied in a way when he sings. Paul is streetcorner wise, raw power and yet emotional when the need arises. It's hard to explain, it's emotional I guess.
@saraivatoledo1842

@@trikkke11 That is exactly what I think. Sure ...by the time "Powerslave " ( or even Piece of mind " for that matter ) was out I had got used to "another " Maiden ...still, as the years went by ,the 1st two with Paul are still the ones which have lost none of their initial impact on me. I´m still that entranced early teenager as I listen to "Ides of March " .

Ive got a real love for the Dianno era of Iron Maiden. They were a lot less theatrical and more aggressive back then, but he is just trying to cash in now. I mean, he left the band in 1981!!

Last time I saw them was on the Seventh son of a seventh son tour with Helloween opening (when the latter were STILL a very decent Speed Metal band - incredible live band back then . 88 that was . One of my 1st gigs -unforgettable to the point I´ve had the chance to see them many times after (mainly at festivals ) and have always declined since I have this feeling it would had ruined the memories I have of that mid teens/ "mid size " gig in the 80s which was simply magical as you can imagine . @@chriswilkinson7636
