There are few singers in the world who can mark an era with their voice.Sir Paul is one of these, capable of moving from the hardest rock to swing, to vaudeville, to pure melodic

The upright bass that Linda's playing in this video was the original played by Elvis' bass player, Bill Black, which McCartney now owns. Pretty cool!

Lyrics: When the moon lays his head on a pillow And the stars settle down for a rest Just do me one small favour I beg you Please play me my baby’s request It’s the song that we heard when we started Now the bird have all flown from our nest But you could bring back memories Departed by playing my baby’s request My baby said That she knows how it goes But you’re the one that really knows So go ahead Just one more time and then we’ll go to bed But you could bring back memories Departed by playing my baby’s request My baby said That she knows how it goes But you’re the one that really knows So go ahead Just one more time and then we’ll go to bed When the moon lays his head on a pillow And the stars settle down for a rest Just do me one small favour I beg you Please play me my baby’s request Hmm play me my baby’s request Please play me my baby’s request One more time

I had to watch this video because I just read that the Bass that belonged to Bill Black is in this video. Bill Black was the animated bass player who used to play with Elvis from the beginning of Elvis's stardom into1958. Bill Black died in 1965 while having brain surgery. I don't know how Paul McCartney's wife came to have his Bass but she gave it to Paul as a gift and it can be seen in this video. I am very happy to see that at least that bit of Bill Black lives on. Outstanding!!

What a ridiculous statement. It's as if you've just started to listen to McCartney. Ever listen to the Beatles? His influences are all over the place. If you listen to him hoping for the exact same thing every time then you're missing the point of what makes McCartney so brilliant. One of Wings' defining characteristics is their ability to - even in the same song - jump all over the place. Get over yourself.
