When I worked at one of the Rockefeller Estates in NY oveooking the Hudson River where on a clear day you could see all the way to the city, there was this one pony among all the other horses, but kept in a dark stall, alone. I felt so bad for him. Hearing the beginning of this song was his song, to me. "Stuck inside these four walls, sent inside forever...." And when they wanted him turned out or when I cleaned his stall I'd groom him and pull him.out if there and into the light. I tried to spend as much time with him as I could, interacting and showing my love and appreciation for him. It was so hard to leave that job and him behind. I felt that they needed to do more for him and I tried to talk with them about this, before I left. But the beginning of this song will always be his song, to me. "If I ever get out of here... I"ll give it all away..."

Had just moved from the Midwest to Southern California when this song came out. I wore out that 45 on my turntable! Life was better and more easy going back then. Met my (now) wife one year later and cruised E Street in San Bernardino and Magnolia in Riverside in our 66 Barracuda, all while I played the tunes on my 8-track. GREAT TIMES!

Fairmount Park! The Lake, the swans, the merry-go-round! Listening to the Friday Fish Report on 94.7 KMET and then 95.5 KLOS for the newest "Nuge" or Zep, or Aerosmith hit! Going through the Naugles drive-thru at Midnight for a massive burrito. And a bottle of Boone's Farm wine or a Mickey's Big Mouth to wash it down. Life was simpler and more exciting back in the 70s! It helped being in my late teens because at that phase of my life... I had no body pain or fatigue issues. Most of us were thin and healthy, with a FULL head of long hair (talking about us dudes!) and full of life... getting just a few hours of sleep each night! My mind is still eighteen, but my body won't keep up! Be careful, because you don't want to be that guy (or that gal) who gets together with friends to talk about ONLY TWO THINGS... The "good old days" and your upcoming doctor appointments and current ailments!!! It's nice to reminisce though! Thanks for opening my memory bank door!

Doctors say my lungs are too weak for chemo even though I probably wouldn't have it done anyway and a biopsy is also out of the question being I have serious case of COPD no doctor wants to put me under couldn't do anything anyway being lungs are too thin now. Also may have cancer in other areas including prostate. Just had two more appointments this last week and another MRI, pretty tired of it all!
