FYI The torquing suspension at ride height is for rubber bushings since they don't rotate. With spherical bearings, it doesn't matter if you are at ride height, full droop or full compression. The spherical bearing rotates to compensate.

Good idea marking the bolts. I’ll do that to mine as well.

How they holding up and is that ball joint sealed to help against dirt and shit? I'm looking at these for my ef hatch that I autocross and daily.

Great so far, this year has been less track than usual due to covid but so far so good. The ball joint is not sealed not sure how well it will hold up to daily use.

4 Track days? That's nuts. I've had mine in my turbo ek autocross car and daily for 4 years and they're solid. And that on both street tires and Hoosier A7's. I will be going to these arms eventually anyway though, lol.

Yeah I was surprised as well. The second set I but in got a ridiculous amount of grease and they lasted a bit longer but not much.

@@FFAttack Do you run a traction bar, or spherical compliance arm bushings?
@FFAttack

No traction bar, I just put spherical compliance bushings in last season along with everything else.

Adding caster, the bushing is in the firewall direction? Thanks

You want to move the upper arm back in our cars. So orientate the spacers to achieve that.

Did you have camber issues after i changed mine to the pci 's i cant go to zero camber adjusted all the way out still negative camber wearing the inside of my tires

I don’t think the stock car even runs zero camber. I have never tried, I run 3.5 deg.

It's not possible to reverse the upper front camber for geometry correction ?

I think you can but have not tried it myself.

Ok, so I'm just now getting these myself. I see you've posted this a year ago or so. But how have they been? And from what I see, the caster bushings are in the wrong place if you're looking to gain that extra +2 caster. From what I see in the directions, the bushing is supposed to be closer to the firewall, just like the small indicator hole?
@FFAttack

They have been great, two seasons on them now and no issues. I have the spacers in the correct orientation to get as much caster as possible. You want to put the spacers on the front side of the spherical to push the arm rearward and thus moving the centerline between top ball joint and lower ball joint back. In stock form they are almost totally vertical (0* caster) when you move the top arm back in relation to the front you change that vertical axis pushing it back like this kind of /. Hope my crude explanation made sense lol.

@@FFAttack yes that absolutely made sense. It's so odd, because the directions say opposite. Unless I'm overlooking something. But now.... I'm going outside tomorrow to have an over look. Appreciate the reply. Car looks 👍. Love the content. Keep it up man. And have a great night

@@FFAttack in the video you said that with the skunk2 ames you had 0.2 degrees of caster, how much caster did you have after this modification?
@FFAttack
3 жыл бұрын
From my calculation 3*. I do my alignments with strings now so it's close. When I had the skunk2 arms it was done on a alignment rack that gives you a castor read out. The change in my tire wear pattern backs up the improvement in castor. Before the arms went in I was badly wearing the outer shoulder of the tires from them not gaining camber as I turned. Now with the added castor they are gaining that camber as the wheel turned and wearing the tires damn near even. No other changes.

@@FFAttack just curious what you set the toe and camber f&r on the black beast? I have an ek dedicated track car as well, all PCI stuff in the rear and just got the upper control arms and I'm super keen to see what the extra castor will bring. I like an oversteer biased fwd and the shopping cart castor these things have is laughable for feeling when the rear will break away. Anyway I'm always curious what toe and castor people use.

How is the ride quality? Stiff or bearable?
@FFAttack

The car is track only so ride quality is far down the list. In the case of the PCI arms they made no noticeable difference.
