i'm going to cry. i have been trying to figure out this pCOS situation bc all my doctors just give me pills and tell me to take this or that. You explaining all this helps SO much. I have high prolactin and I have PCOS. I've been given cabergoline and it hasn't really done much.you also mentioned Vitex to help lower prolactin levels if my Progesterone levels are low. What if my progesterone levels and LH (luteinizing hormone) is considered "normal" but i have high prolactin? how would I go about this?

Thanks for this video, helps me a lot. I just got my bloodwork back. My testosterone levels are at 459, doctor said it should be in the 100-200 range. My dhea and dheas is also very, very high as well. I had an ultrasound done and they found multiple small follicles around my ovaries, confirming pcos. Last but not least, they found what seems to be a solid 5cm (size of a golf ball) mass near my ovaries. I am scheduled to get an MRI to see exactly where it is, and I'm guessing if it's benign or malignant. My OB has advised me to get on the pill, I don't know if that is the only solution

I'm a bit confused about Vitex. If I have very high prolactin, high DHEA-S and also slightly elevated LH levels (though within normal range), would it still be an option for me? A naturopath prescribed me Vitex as she says my hairloss is due to high prolactin and lack of progesterone. On the other hand, some endos told me that slightly elevated LH is due to PCOS and recommended birth control saying that prolactin cannot possibly have anything to do with hairloss and I should just leave it untreated. I don't know what to believe anymore and what to start with. I would be so grateful for your opinion! Btw, I really appreciate your work:) Your explanations are so helpful! Thank you! :)

@@AgataPawlak Thanks a lot for replying! Yes, I've had blood tests several times, and every single time my hormones were within the normal ranges. My doctor thinks I have subclinical PCOS since I only have some of the symptoms (acne, hair loss, hirsutism, and sometimes irregular periods)
@AgataPawlak
3 жыл бұрын
@@breathompson8476 I'll be completely honest and tell you that if doctors don't know why, neither do I. What I would suggest is try to observe and maybe journal when symptoms get worse. I've heard that sometimes conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone can be the probe. Sometimes also doctors don't do enough of comprehensive studies and they check only testosterone and not DHEA for example. So first find someone who will test insulin, A1C hemoglobin, testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, DHEA and if they can come up with more even better. You can notice some of these things too. If I cheat on Keto I get acne which tells me ok my insulin definitely influences my testosterone and my symptoms. I get same with stress. So I try noting WHEN and WHY symptoms get worse or better. Think about your body like a machine. Ok I have a worse hairfall. What has happened recently that could influence it? Stress? Well I haven't slept that much, or I had worked out too hard or I have eaten a lot of sugar. Be little inspector because when you know the cause you can reverse the effect.

I have a hard time believing it was inositol's fault because this is not how it works in general. It is almost like it can work or do nothing but in my opinion it couldn't be making things worse. The only reason why I am saying that is that it might be coincidence and there is something else happening in your body that could be worth exploring. Because I have a bad gut feeling that you will stop inositol and it will not change. If it does let me know I would love to know! 🤗

@@AgataPawlak Yes I'll let you know, but hair change is slow, so maybe in a year? Lol Also, I didn't think it was inositol before seen similar comments on reddit... So maybe there is a small portion of us, that for some reason inositol doesn't suit us? Or maybe it's something else, but I stopped inositol anyway since I didn't notice any positive changes and I'm sticking to berberine + milk thistle :) also trying NAC in a few weeks, so fingers crossed!

Good video but do you have proof natural supplements work? Because I did this for five years and my hair growth on my face just kept getting worse no matter what I did. I don’t drink or smoke and only eat Whole Foods and took all those supplements plus more and here I am wishing I would have just taken pharmaceuticals five years ago.

The only proof are scientific articles and anecdotal evidence. But just like in case of everything.... every body is different and you might have had a specific combination of circumstances that made your experience bad. Sometimes stress and high levels of DHEA might be to blame etc. or in very rare cases it’s genetic predisposition. I’ve heard of such cases before. I’m happy you found a solution that works for you. I’m not opposed to medication I just think it’s worth to try with an alternative first. I was not allowed on medication anymore cause they hurt my health so my only choice was natural ways. So that’s when I started discovering it. Hope you are well and happy 🤗

Yes it can if your high androgens are caused by high insulin. I would say though you need to combine it with diet cause inositol won’t lower insulin enough if your diet is still not low glycemic. Also take under consideration it will take a long time to see effect. I read that effects of inositol on insulin are visible after min 8 months. So let’s say your follicles will stop being affected then. So after 8 months you need to give even more time to start seeing regrowth. Sadly balancing hormones can take years but it’s worth it 😊🤗

You could have a regular period and be at a “regular” weight and still have PCOS. PCOS comes with many symptoms and women experience PCOS differently. Acne is a hormonal problem and it’s deeper than just taking a supplement to make it go away. There’s a lot going on and there are a lot of factors that contribute to it. I feel like this is not talked about enough but women with PCOS have to consider stress management. You have to consider that although exercise is good for you, it still puts stress on your body. Exercise is good stress but at the end of the day it’s still stress. Stress elevates your cortisol levels, which then messes with your testosterone levels, which then causes problems including acne. How long are your workouts? Are they intense? How many days of the week do you work out? Do you have frequent rest days? All these things must be considered. Women with PCOS are advised to have no more than 3-4 days to workout and the workouts shouldnt be too intense. Try lowering the intensity and frequency of the workouts. Also make sure you’re incorporating weightlifting (unless you’re already doing it). Try not to have intense cardio sessions either. I suggest switching out some days for yoga or days you do LISS cardio (basically taking walks). There’s a lot more that I can say but I don’t want to overwhelm you. Something else you have to consider is diet. On Instagram look at these pages to learn more: @healthillie (former fitness influencers that talks about the fitness industry and the harmful Ingredients they use that’s contributes to health problems) and @lifeasjenn (works with women who have Hormone imbalances I highly suggests you check her out as well!) I hope this helps!

I found conflicting information about it. One source mentions you shouldn’t in the first trimester, the other recommends it for digestion. I think just in case it’s better to avoid it and ask your doctor 🤗

Yes, I don't see why not. There are actually studies on combining Inositol + folic acid + NAC together to restore menstruation www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4021745/

It can if you don't address your insulin levels and they spike back up. If your insulin comes back up so do androgens and the problem might be back. Otherwise you can always remove insulin spikes and go keto but that is your choice because it is not an easy lifestyle.

Can you take L-theanine, omega 3, vitex, inositol, along with other daily vitamins like (zinc, magnesium, A, D) or would that be too much for the body?
@AgataPawlak

As long as you don’t take too much of any to your body I don’t see why not 😊 check also your diet and try to incorporate all of them from natural sources they are usually better bio available. Why not salmon instead of omega 3, eggs instead of vitamin A? 😊
