It happens with all kinds of product, including frozen food which then has to be tossed for being left to spoil. They buy Starbucks and leave it half consumed on the shelf (must have a crap ton of money to do that). Some nasties even eat some food and put the rest on the shelf next to/on a product (if you do this you’re a *redacted*). Shucks, let’s talk about the abandoned carts with a few items in them. All of this because someone projected a narrative onto the fact that someone stuck a purse in the baby aisle. Someone could’ve been deciding between two purses as they walked down that aisle and just put the one they didn’t want on the shelf out of laziness. A mom could’ve been shopping with her daughter who picked up the purse in an attempt to get mom to buy it for her and the mom said no. Or any other scenario. People leave stuff on shelves they shouldn’t all the time. More likely than not it means nothing.

My daughter-in-law works at Target. Two days ago a man bought a suitcase. He was suspicious as the suitcase seemed to be very heavy. They didn't have him on camera but checked the suitcase. It had several Stanley cups and 10 cans of baby formula inside. NOT paid for. Now the formula can't be sold in case it was tampered with. So a mom who needed a can of that formula may not get one. He wasn't stealing a single can of formula because he had no money and had a hungry baby at home-- he was going to sell it with a Stanley cup. That type of person makes me as you said "clutch my pearls " Also obviously Target loses enough merchandise via theft-- now they can't sell the ransacked items either. My daughter-in-law is is 5 months pregnant and that just adds to my concerns.

As a retail worker, this is literally just making so much work for the employees who are already overworked and underpaid. 😭 Because all those products that are ripped open esp. medicine, have to be claims in the back. Which in turn makes the companies charge more, and also lock up more behind plastic cases making you waste more time out of your valuable day.

I was thinking the same thing as that man. Why would you put $20 bills in a diaper box at Walmart?? No one who is struggling goes to target, especially to buy food or baby stuff for themselves. My family never bought necessities at target. We only went there if we were getting a gift for a birthday party or baby shower. I also think it’s so dumb to record yourself going and hiding money, like people are going to look for it, they could just make a video of them saying that they did this and say how hard it is being a mom and how they want to support other moms.

I feel like the person who started the trend probably had good intentions and maybe they were just trying to put the idea out there in hopes of helping more mothers. (Because I'm sure a lot of people would never have thought to do this on their own). But after that video blew up, there was really no good reason for everyone else to film themselves participating. The raiding could have been prevented if more people did the nice thing in private. No one would raid their local baby aisle because one person made a video slipping cash into items. But since people all over the country/world are posting themselves doing this, the scumbags realized they might actually have a chance at finding money in a box of diapers.

I understand that the original post might have been made with good intentions I’m just confused how a purse in a baby section is what led to all of this? At first I thought it was a purse that was forgotten because thats just the kind of day the mom was having or something but this is just not the first place my mind would go 😅 I worked in retail (Target actually lol) back when I was in school and it was just expected to find stuff misplaced everywhere in the store because it was easier to leave it there than go put it back where you got it. Idk I just dont really see how a misplaced purse led to this realization that yes, people are struggling and moms can absolutely have it harder (if they’re actually trying to be a good parent) but I think there are better ways to ensure you’re actually helping the population you’re trying to help like donating to shelters or food banks, etc. Or if you really want to help right there in the store, hang out around the checkout lines and choose who you directly want to bless by offering to pay for those wipes/diapers etc. or even giving them a gift card. I don’t think it needs to be publicized but that’s a whole other thing lol

Then my mum said "They are asking for real addressed help, you cannot make it glamorous and fancy, so they thought it's not worth it for them." Humans are the most disappointing creatures on this planet. I am now a mama myself and I hope to raise my child kinder, gentler and humble. Humans, do better!

So someone created an entire narrative out of what was likely nothing and an entire trend was made? I literally leave stuff I don't want to buy anymore in random places in the store sometimes (I know, I'm bad). There could be a million reasons why that purse was there - lol. Instead of donating baby supplies to places that literally exist for that reason, people are engaging in passive acts of kindness (* cough clout). People must be really bored these days to resort to such pointless behavior. Side note: Just because someone has kids doesn't make them deserving of anything. This idea is where so many bad parents get their entitlement from. We live in the real world. Not what is displayed on social media.

The annoying part of this trend is the initial post was a fan fiction story made up by the OP. We don't know for a fact that a mother gave up a purse for baby formula. So basically, everyone involved in this "she deserved the bag" challenge are using altruism to feel good about themselves.

Nobody cares about single parents. You made a bad decision f ing with someone YOU HAD NO LOVE FOR Single mom's... also it's a common psychology thing known that dad's can be moms and dad's but moms CANNOT play the role of a dad. Father figures play an important role in any kids life. Single moms are from my experience the most narcissistic people you'll ever meet, try dating one they'll treat you like a pay piggy and if you try to be dad they'll get pee'd off Worst kinda women. Who don't even know how to work hard..... like men can Id give cash to a mom and dad straight up to their face. The trend also is so easily manipulated people probably perpetuated this trend who worked at stores to them find the money later, you don't just leave cash everywhere especially I saw a 100$ in one of thr clips like wtf?? If you're already struggling don't be dumb.... giving out donations

I know when you take something you know thats not for you, you loose 10x that amount. God will find a way to make sure you receive what is intended for you. There are other ways to help mothers. Homeless shelters, women’s shelters, your Childs school, a woman on the street with children.

To be fair, the up and up brand from target is one of the cheapest diapers out there. Plus, target is always having amazing sales where if you spend 100 bucks you get a 20 dollar gift certificate. Target is a great place for low income moms to get pretty good diapers.

OMG is this why I have been noticing how diaper boxes and formula cans in my Target in Louisville KY area seems to have been “opened”??? Like the top lids are missing and the boxes have been ripped open… and I’m sorry but I feel super uncomfortable giving my baby formula from a can that has been visibly opened. It’s ironically the Up and Up geen Soy can because that’s one of the only ones she can drink without getting an allergic reaction. People are too greedy for money.
@RTDice11

Idgaf if people want to do good things for clout, at least do it in a way that *does good?* Like, give the mom a giftcard directly and film tf out of it. Do a 'prank' where you slip a wad and a note into a baby's stroller when the parent isn't looking. Film yourself giving to charity. Like c'mon, destroying packages and throwing money away is so braindead

There is way too many greedy people in the world to do this challenge. I understand doing a good deed is nice but when you post it on social media it feels ehhh kind stage. I’m not saying people aren’t hiding money but it gives me “look what I did! be proud of me”. I think you should do it without recording it in my humble opinion. It’s like when KZitemr go out and give out little Caesar pizza to the homeless. They have record every moment of it to post it online so everyone can see. Yes it’s a good deed but why just do it without the cameras.
@meduimdock
Күн бұрын
If you want to do something nice, you don’t have to post about it on the internet. Fun fact: people stay longer if you make other people mad, or sad. It’s crappy, but true. But posting about the good deed that you done is the equivalent of those videos saying “hey, stop that. 😊👍” and that guitar song starts playing.
@captainfluffypaws7068

I understand people trying to spread kindness on the internet, but as it shows some acts of kindness shouldn't be online. Because not only are we seeing this greed in people, we also have to question if the one who recorded it is doing it for the attention. It's like the whole trick thing of trying to be humble. Once you say you are humble to others, people no longer see you as humble.
@harrisindustries314

Moral of the story is that lots of people need help. I don't why people are looking down on one group of people in need, calling them greedy, for potentially taking from another group in need. Anyone who is going to stores to look for random money in public is probably not in a good position themselves. Everybody thinks they deserve something. This is a much larger social problem and, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. All this trend did is create problems for these stores and probably conflicts in the baby sections. Good job.

There is never going to be a gurantee that the person you donate to is "good" unless it is a close personal friend or something. Even donation to reputable organization could end up helping people or cause that you would find objectionable. So you can't worry too much about that. That said, some are certainly safer than others.
@rontom3405
Күн бұрын
Just donate to people who are struggling and need the help. I automatically think people are doing it for clout when you post it online... donate because you are doing it from the kindness in your heart. not because you wanna be viral. or better yet, why not see a mom getting items for their kid and buy their formula or diaper.. would help cut the BS
@MuseSunflower
Күн бұрын
The idea is nice but I can see all the downsides. Most people filming are just performative and looking for clout. I’m sure they take the money back once the camera stops filming And for the ones who see this and go hunting to steal it.. that’s awful too If you truly have pure intentions then the best way to help is directly going to a shelter or something to donate items.
