The people that don’t like kayaks have red and green need to look at boat safety if a boat is operating in the water before day light it is safe to have red and green lights so boats can see you also boat have the different colored lights so you know where it is located if it is coming at you going away from you got in front of you from the left or right

Coast guard actually advises against it as the red/green tells other powered boats your powered and under way. Meaning you have the ability to get out of the way quicker. Just like powered boats aren’t supposed to be showing red/green while anchored, only your white stern light. I know the reasoning by adding it just saying it’s advised against by just about every agency that handles these situations
