Recipe for a perfect potato dish with crackling and cream sauce:
NUMBER OF PORTIONS: 2 - 3
600g of potatoes (boiled)
100g of flour
1 egg
Salt - to taste
FOR SAUCE:
300 milliliters of cream
100g smoked bacon
1 onion
Salt and pepper to taste
Boil the potatoes in salted water, drain the water, evaporate and crush.
Put the egg in the potatoes, add salt, add the flour and knead the dough.
Sprinkle the table with flour, grind your hands, take a handful of dough, place it on the table, roll it back and forth with both hands to get a long thin string, flatten it slightly and cut into diagonal diamonds of the desired size.
Line the baking sheet with parchment paper and place the whistles. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes, until nicely browned. Baking time depends on the size of the whistles.
Finely chop the bacon and onion and fry in a pan. Then add the cream, add the spices. When stirring the sauce, do not put it on the fire for a long time, when it starts to thicken - remove it.
Put the baked whistles in a heat-resistant container, pour the sauce on them, stir and cover with a lid. Place the bowl with the whistles in a still hot but switched off oven and leave for 15 to 20 minutes to allow the whistles to soak in and soften. The longer you leave them in the oven, the tastier they are. Delicious 😋
