I've always loved her voice. There's a movie called "Goodbye Mr. Chips" in which she plays the female lead. It's my favorite Petula Clark movie and I watch it often.

"Music and Lyrics by Charles Chaplin for A Countess from Hong Kong, 1966 This song was released as a music tie-in for A Countess from Hong Kong in 1967. Petula Clark made it a hit, and other notable vocal artists recorded it soon thereafter."

I have always loved Petula Clark! She was the very first singer from the UK to have a #1 hit in the US with Downtown in 1964! I was 3 years old when that song came out!

I think you might want to compare her voice to Julie Andrews. They both come from the British stage, are close in age and have covered similar material during their careers.
