Actually the 803 DOES support Dolby Atmos from Maxdome, and it can support Atmos on other Streaming Services, because it can process and passthrough DD+

Hello AVForum, I purchased this model after your and other peoples review and shootout tests. I would like to point out a few faults that were present with my units and I think thay are generic design faults. 1) I had picture set to "NIGHT" mode as my room isn't very bright. 2) Sound was set to Expert mode and DTS TruVolume. Every time I turned the TV ON. I had to reselct Night mode and DTSTruVolume again. I notifed Philips of this issue and nearly 10 weeks (21st Jan 2019) later they have offered no solutuion at all. Additionally ISF Day & Night are the only picture modes look normal/natural the rest of the picture options are wast of space & time. Smooth motion definately does not work and in somecses I observed blotches when looking at fast moving objects (tried various motion smoothing combinations no joy at all). I don't belive their 4k upsaceling is working properly either as some HD programmes like "Friends on Ch-4HD came out horribly spotty. Even QVC HD had lot of picture noise present. Could I urge you to relook at this TV if you get an oppertunity but with HD broadcasts and normal programmes and look how this TV perfoms? I am highly dissapointed with Philips with their service. Love to know if other 55 inch-803 owners have noticed performance issues. May purchase Panasonic 802 instead.

I experience the smearing of images on upscaled content as well as ultra 4k netflix content like casa de papel. I played around with the mpeg reduction and motion style but the smearing is still noticeable. Are there soecial settings to prohibit smearing on the 803Oled? It occurs only with fast moving objects and fast scenes indeed, like the p5 processor is having troubled to keep up?

Great review One question : can i use the picture settings you recommended for Philips 55POS9002 or it is not the same? If not, could you please post a review with recommended picture setting for this set (ISF day, night and hdr) please? Thanks :)

Do any of you experience judder on the 803 oled? How can this be fixed or what are the optimal settings for ultra fluid motion? When watching casa de papel fi the red suits contours on a lighter grey background create a judder effect, like it smears the images around the contour of bodies. Can anyone relate? Using a Ziggo Media vox Next 4k as a decoder

Why would they ditch on Ambilux technology which is premium then Ambilght on their high end TVs. Here in US these TVs are craze. But they don’t sell them here. I want to order and ship it. Any help in this matter from anyone or Philips?

I had back to back Phillips TVs since 2009 to 2016 and although I love ambilight I was put if by the dirty marks effect while watching sport. Maybe that's improved now under oled but I'm wary to return

Philips 803 and 903 are the best image of 2018. The first years after the TPV deal, Philips products went down in quality. A lot has changed the last years and starting with POS 9673 and then 873 and 803. I both C8 and 803 and the 803 sharpness leaves you in awe. Not for serious gaming though, c8 has a much lower input lag. Another drawback is the player built in, not very good for 4k, best to use an external one.

Every OLED review the lack of brightness and lack of true white (blue-ish) strike me. Add the risk of burn in and I'm glad I bought a QLED Q9.

you do not own an oled you only have a perception of what it is from forums and videos. Brightness is plenty that I actually have to use half brightness and whites are perfectly fine, on rare occasions people get bad units. burn-in is very hard to get, actually takes effort to achieve.

won’t be out for several more years, won’t be affordable for several years after that and if you think MicroLEd is going to be perfect at launch then you are a fool as no technology is perfect at launch and certainly perfect period. So you are looking at least 3 - 6 years before its affordable and most of the issues are taken care of and you think Oled won’t improve before then?
