Pide:
Dough:
- 500g flour
- 300 ml warm water (1.5 cups)
- 15 ml oil (1.5 tablespoons)
- 10g salt (1 teaspoon)
- 12g sugar
- 10g yeast
Filling:
- 2 tbspn oil
- 300 g ground beef, lamb, or desired meat
- 1 Red and 2 green peppers
- 1 tbspn Tomato paste
- Salt, black pepper, paprika to taste
- 1 onion
- 1/4 cup Water (as needed)
- chopped Parsley
Additional:
- Mozzarella cheese
- Sesame seeds
- 1 egg yolk
Preparation:
1. Mix the dough ingredients in a bowl and knead until smooth. Cover and let it ferment.
2. Prepare the filling by cooking the ground meat in a pan. Add chopped onion and continue to cook. Add diced peppers, tomato paste, seasoning, and a little water. Let the filling cool before adding chopped parsley.
3. Divide the fermented dough and shape them into balls.
4. Roll out the balls with rolling pins, then shape them as shown in the video. Top the dough with toasted sesame seeds and add the prepared filling.
5. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius (375 degrees Fahrenheit).
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Optional: Brush the tops with beaten egg yolk before baking for a shiny finish.
