OK, let’s just say it out loud for those kids today: “Pillow Talk” is the grandmother of all romantic comedies, and 60 plus years later, it still ranks as one of the very best of all time.

@@Q.Gold30 AGREE! I miss that New York. It glittered like a necklace. So do the zingers parried by Rock Hudson and Doris Day in their first pairing, but by an incredible supporting team of American treasures includingThelma Ritter and the Great Tony Randall! This movie is so shallow but so wonderfully funny at the same time. I love the following scene, when he is telling his lies to her, faking to be the guy from Texas and the lady at the piano is corresponding to that in singing: you're lying, you hound and you'll be sorry....". (Btw: I love Jonathan, the diner scene with him hitting her...so hillarious)

My cousin, Elsa Doran, wrote this song! She's gone now and I miss her - as a teenager, I used to record demos of some of her songs (not this one) that she would take to record companies. She always had confidence in my singing and gave me the confidence to try and pursue a singing career. I made one record, "I'll Get You Yet" but it didn't go anywhere.
