What climate zone is the tree?

Zone 8 NW WA. We get the most chill hours here in the Pacific Northwest because we stay above freezing for the majority of winter.

I grafted a few otterson red fleshed apples onto a gala apple tree last year. They are doing very well. I also grafted giant Russian red fleshed crabapple onto gala, pear and an ornamental crabapple - some kind of weeping Siberian variety as far as I can tell. That one is starting to fruit.

Did grafts plum onto peach rootstock ( summer here). And it worked. Thanks. All the grafts of Japanese plum onto European plum rootstock failed. The literature is divided on the topic of incompatibility. Again , great instruction bideos

I agree, some places maybe peach rootstock is better. Especially if it’s sand

@@nickkasko2097 The European plum rootstock suckers profusely I want to use it somehow The European plums have ceased producing fruit because our winters are now very mild , climate change. So now have large useless European plums which I cannot seem to graft
