Love the content! Can’t tell you how many customers and people are dumbfounded by the prices to do this stuff. I’m in Virginia and charge slightly less per step but close and have countless people say it’s too expensive, only to watch them pick someone else to do it for way less and use some 3m one step on it, or just work way too hard for way too little. This stuff takes so much time and back breaking work!! Keep the vids coming man new subscriber for sure

Hey man I’m 17 and just started a boat washing business and this guy wants me to clean a 35 foot Cabo and another 15-20 foot boat and I told him I’d do it for 350-400 and he said he could get it done professionally for $75-150

Your price is cheap to start. My friend this won’t be the last time that you run into people like this, it is not common knowledge to know the price of a boat wash. That’s why more people like us have to spread the word and start educating people on what it takes to properly take care of a boat. In a situation like this, don’t be afraid to say thank you and walk away.

I find the longer I’m in the industry I spend a lot of time defining terms and educating the boat owners. It’s all about clear communication.

Yes sir. I think once detailers are on the same page, it’ll set the industry standard and we all can thrive.

Hey bother what do you recommend doing to prep a boat to add a polymer sealant coat. Because I used dawn soap to remove any containment and I used a microfiber pad to apply the sealant(name of sealant Jescar) but the paint didnt come out like I wanted. There are leftover residue from the sealant… I need some help please

So before you started, was the paint dull and faded? If so, you need to buff out that oxidation before any kind of sealant is applied. Jescar and hyperhold don’t automatically make things shiny alone.

@@Swflmarinedetail thank you very much. Now to remove the sealant would recommend using acid or boat cleaner? And do I have to purchase a compound especially for boat?

What type of sealant did you use? If you used jescar, you could just use a degreaser to remove it. After, yes you would need to use a buffer and a compound to remove the oxidation, then remove those scratches, then seal.

Yes and no . Some detailers do paint correction some don't I think you may be forgetting decon, clay bar, wax/sealants graphene, ceramic is more on the detailing side. Yes you can coat an uncorrected surface not all customers want a correction. Just because a detailer doesn't paint correct doesn't make them a car/, boat washer.

Hi there, what do you use for acid wash? Thanks

So I use a product called venom, it is a acid-based product, it is really good at getting rust spots off and cleaning scum lines off of the bottom of the boat, the link is in the description in my bio if you want to check it out. It’s really good stuff and a little bit goes a very long way. It will also help removing some oxidation before buffing.
