Hello, I'm growing them indoor in cold weather. 10 months old right now. I have a few videos about it. I'll put them outdoor in this spring for first time. By the way you're garden is fantastic

Looking forward to seeing updates in the future. I’m growing avocado and mango from seed in a non-tropical zone so I will have to grow them like indoor plants. I’m just doing it for fun, not necessarily for fruit. But if I get fruit, yay! I heard it could take up to 15 years for avocado to fruit from seed, though. 😳

I will definitely post more updates. Hopefully ones with good news! It's great that you're trying that it's always fun to experiment and see how much we can push the edge.

@@smsalmo23 for mangos be sure you open the outside layer, the actual seed is inside that. I would personally recommend germinating in a paper towel.

Papaya envy over here in my Pacific Northwest state of Washington. It will be fun to see your plants take off. I wish I could grow some tropical plants like this...☹️

It will be fun. My Hawaiian Papayas are looking worse every day because of the unusually cold winter we've had. Not sure some of them will make it. Hopefully these will grow and be a good replacement!

My Papayas have just germinated, following an experiment to grow them from seed salvaged from a store fruit. I washed them straight out of the fruit, crushed that outer membrane (cleaned it away) and planted them straight into a seed tray. I have since moved most of them as they all germinated and space was at a premium. I will only be able to put mine out on sunny days, living in a cold, wet part of the UK - but I'm getting ahead of myself there, they have to survive first! One site from Asia, recommended only using the seeds from the bottom half of the fruit as these seeds were mostly female. Not sure if that is generally true, but this method was used by the growers. In addition, they cut away the end of the roots - again for the same result. These stages were seen to yield female fruits.

That's where I got my seeds! I found that it's harder to get a male plant than a female plant but that is an interesting tip. Let me know how it goes I would love to see you get fruit in the UK!

Two questions, does letting the seeds sit in water over night, the sinkers are viably the floaters are not work with these seeds. And are the lighter seeds female, the darker seeds male.

Throw em in a fish tank. They sit at the bottom for about a month then quite fascinatingly, begin to germinate! I was pleasantly surprised! About 2" tall now.

Hi l watched you episode 1and 2 .l was thinking about also trying to grow papaya in one of my past searches I found that some people are saying that the sex of your plant is determined by the first root growth I think they said that the one root are hermaphrodite and the ones two root or are male from memory hope this helps

I just dried the seeds on a napkin and popped them into the potting soil! They are about 10 - 18 inches tall now after about three or four months. I don't know if they are male or female or hermaphrodites.

Hey, I just wanna ask did you plant them into pots? If so, how big? and How are you going to transplant that since papaya doesn't suit well for transplanting? Thank you so much!

The paper towel is the fastest to germinate seeds. I sprouted so many seed from this method. I dont use heat mat. I hid them under a thick clothing like an old curtain that is folded.

You dont open the plastic bag. The only problem is you need to be very careful when transferring the seedlings as their roots get in the paper towel.
