Pre covid, there was this salon I LOVED. The ladies were all so sweet, but there were definitely some different personalities when it came to doing the nails. This one woman, man she really had shaping down to an art, my nails were FLAWLESSLY shaped every time she did them but I would always walk away from the appointment with multiple cuts on my fingers. It hurt so much but I put up with it because I liked the salon and my nails never looked better, but honestly after wearing custom press-ons since quarantine I can't go back to a salon. Why does your machine go up so high in RPMs when it is not necessary and may hurt someone?
@jaz2740
Жыл бұрын
some people prefer higher RPMs. sometimes high speeds like that is necessary to a persons technique. my coworker uses a 30 rmp (possibly more) daily on her clients and she barely has ever burned a client, but that’s because she does acrylic. heat comes from a nonstop repeated motion on the nail plate, not the speed itself. as long as you do quick strokes and lift the drill bit off the nail, you’ll be good.
@NailCareerEducation

Ok... i just learned from another famous nail tech that the higher the efile is going with carbide, the lower the risk of heat spikes 😑 wich advice is correct now
@jaz2740
Жыл бұрын
i personally do 11 the highest with my efile, but my coworker prefers the 35-20 speed, saying the same thing; that having a higher speed reduces heat spikes. i think it’s because the more speed, the more faster you’ll finish the process, which means you won’t have to file as much. for example, with my 11 speed it probably takes me 15 strokes to remove a product whereas my coworker who goes 30 will take five strokes to remove product. with me taking 15 strokes at 11, i have a 50/50 chance of burning my client whereas my coworker might have lesser. this is just me making sense of her advice though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ heat spikes come from repeated motion of the drill without taking it off the nail plate, not the speed itself.
@NailCareerEducation
Жыл бұрын
Heat spikes comes from too long in one spot, old dull drill bits and to much pressure in one spot. Once you control your pressure and speed and you have the right bit, adding HIGH SPEED simply increases more damage if you slip. There is no wiggle room- a techs reaction time to prevent turning your finger into hamburger meat is EXTREMELY SMALL! It’s not worth the risk. And I have never seen a tech save anytime with high speed - their barely touching cause they are too afraid to burn - so they don’t get it done any faster

Except when removing large amounts of product, it is better to have sharp bits going at very high speeds to create less friction... Some of the education that you put out really does make me question what you're teaching to people like. Yes on natural nails. You should not be going anywhere past 10, but if you're taking off the end of a nail if you don't put it at 30 to 35 it catches a lot and is uncomfortable for the client but you said never go up to that. So then when people are taking off tips and stuff they're not going to do that and they're going to end up ripping into their nails or getting caught and pulling things. So not really the best advice to be giving people. I understand it's a short but maybe don't put e-file advice in a like 10 second video where you can't give actual proper explanations for things... This is just really not well done and I expect more from you
@NailCareerEducation

Even when removing large amounts of products There is no need to run your Efile at 30/35 It’s too high. If the client flinches for any reason serious damage to the skin is likely Combine the right bits with the right technique and experience And eliminate the element of damage - high speeds equal burning/cutting/overfilling

@@NailCareerEducation I make a point of talking to my clients about the drill and what it can do, especially if they flinch and I make it very clear that if they do for some reason feel the need two flinch to pull their hands directly back away from me to avoid any damage to skin... And that would imply that I was using full speed at the cuticle which I never said I was doing. I specifically said the tip or the free edge. I didn't say free edge but that is what I was implying. Yeah using it at 30 35 by the cuticles is just asking for problems again. That's why I said this shouldn't be a short. It should be an actual video explaining different situations instead of telling people. No never do this when there are in fact situations where you would use that and there's also situations where you never should
