Hi Eric, I'm a "liker" and subscriber from Lake Charles, LA. We're about 50 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico in southern LA where we enjoy a solidly subtropical climate. It's April 17, 2024 and last week I just recieved an about 3-4' 'Teresa Wilder' rooted plant from J&J Plumerias which I potted into an approx. 5 gal. terra cotta pot. It has a few small leaves which I assume are the first to emerge after winter dormancy. I think we're up and running with it, as I dusted the root ball with rooting hormone before I watered it in. I'm careful not to overwater it, so it just gave it a little sip. Thanks for posting. Your videos are always helpful. 🌱🪴🌴

Hey Eric! Your videos are awesome! I've got some seedlings I need to pot up soon. You mentioned your top soil mix... is there any way you can make a video of the mix you make? Thanks!

Hi Erig, love your vids- I trtied your Bagrooting tips - Worked totally fine!!! I'm so happy. Can you help me? How can I make that cutting to get new branches? do I got to cut the tip too? But that doens't look good, cause the branches come aside the cut surface. Am I right? Hope you can give me some hint. Thanks in advance!

Thank you tnt! It will branch naturally when it blooms from that tip. Usually on well established trees with multiple branches as they get big and need trimmed. This is when I take cuttings. From there they branch at the leaf nodes. Hope this helps. It will take a few years for that.

Eric do you have any problem with the bottoms of the cutting getting soft? It seemed like you.planted it lower and filled up the pot above the original?

These are seedlings. I fill the bottom of the pot with soil then the rootball sits in top. My cuttings are done the same way. The key is fast draining soil. Gotta have that

Hi how old was your seedling when you transplanted?

That was about 4-5 months old. It also depends when they were germinated. Early or late in season. Late season I let them go dormant. And start of following season I up pot.

What would cause an established plumeria's leaves to gradually turn yellow/brown and fall off? This happening to one of our plants. What is your fertilizing schedule? What do you recommend? Which NPK Osmocote and how much fish emulsion?

It depends where you're at. Its been drought like and hot in Central Florida. Keep them hydrated. I fertilize once a year with balanced NPK. If all leaves have fallen off I would check the roots. Its normal as the plant grows to have yellow older leaves.
