Make a spooky air whipping prop for your haunted house this Halloween. JUST WHIP IT, WHIP IT GOOD! Here is a close behind the scenes look at our Halloween Ankle Tickler Air Blaster Prop. This and the rat box gave us the first big scare inside our haunted walk through maze for Halloween. People didn't expect cold air whipping at your legs and it got them every time, lots of screams where heard inside the cemetery or graveyard crypt that October night. Its funny cause I was able to scare Jeana quite a few times while working on the maze before Halloween and funny thing was it scared me a few times too! I will share how to assemble and build this do it yourself air powered prop for your haunted house or walk through so you can start your on build or production of this animated Halloween prop. I will give you all the measurements I used and show how I installed into our Halloween maze and how it looks when it operates. The materials to build this Pneumatic Halloween prop is considerable cheap and inexpensive but some of the components to make it operate in different ways may add up. Its constructed with 1/2" PVC pipe, tee and end cap PVC fittings which are glue into place. 1/2" to 1/4" reducing bushing were used wrapped with Teflon plumbers tape, 1/4" push-to-connect fittings and 1/4" black airline tubing was used for the whips. The system runs off of a storage tank placed near it that is constantly charged with air from a compressor located in the garage the night of use. This was a nice set up because of the amount of air this thing can use up. Luckily I had the motion sensor set to only trip for a brief one or two seconds and would only send one group of four people in every few minutes. A modified motion sensor that is tripped just before the first person walks by the blast of air sets it off for a quick 3 or 4 seconds. The motion sensor and whipper ankle blaster is connected to a solenoid air valve. It works best set at 100 psi and the whips do not hurt when the hit bare legs. The cold air and noise is what gets the trick or treaters. We purchase most of our pneumatic supply's from Parker dealers like Comoso, Mcmaster or Grainger. This is a great automated prop that is perfect for the maze that's short on actors and for anyone to make as an addition to their inventory of scare props!
