i regularly do long bike rides while fasting. i recently did a 3 day water fast and every day i rode a steady 50km bike ride, at about 75% of my regular intensity. i've been doing ADF fasting for close to half a year now, and have never been in a better shape (weight, blood pressure, inflammation markers, etc. etc.). what i do is when i am riding in fasted state i keep my heart rate within 130-140 range (i am 41 years old)

@@tripleblackzack i think it is just a matter of getting used to it, and getting the feel of your body. I swear that now, after 2+ years of adf and keto, I can feel the precise threshold of power which my body can still support with fat. If I keep below, I can go on and on without food or hunger. Anything above, sprints or intervals, means I get hunger pangs or energy drops, which I think mean I kick myself out of ketosis by causing some proteins to be burned into some form of glucose. This year I have done a few 200km rides on weekends in fasted state, and zero problems (also, not great average speeds mind you, but that wasn't the objective). I did a 3 day ride with my wife, friday, sat and sun, where we didn't eat, did around 370km over flats, and felt perfect afterwards. But yeah, very slowly - our avg speed was around 18.5km/h on trekking bikes, vs. 25-27km/h I'd do if i carb loaded and didn't worry about ketosis. Anyway, sorry for the long read.

I'm fasting for 3 days then I eat, then I fast for 3 more days. I'm on keto. And I'm running 15km each morning. Feel great. No hunger. You can do even gym workouts, don't worry. Just take your electrolytes with plenty of water and give your body time to adapt to this regime. Don't rush straight to long fast. Teach your body gradually how to adapt to this new regime. When it's ready you will know. Good luck!

@@Julia_Berrrlin I also fast and I prepare it a week before. I only eat vegetables and fatty meats. It makes a fast much easier. Remember to take electrolytes and salt every day during fasting. If you are hungry for the first 24 hours then do some light sports to deplete your body's carbohydrates. I'm not an expert but this helps me 100%

I run an average of 40 miles per week and always had food before a run but I started fasting 2 years ago (for health reasons) and eventually I tried a run without food , so much better now I never eat before a run , my runs are usually in the early evening so I am fasted in the region of 18 hours from the previous evening , also a longer run on Saturday 10 - 12 miles I have no hunger issues , not sure about a marathon though

Fasting is speeding up. Animal are nature dominant (gene dominated) where as human has more room to be bit more than nature. Also, birds who fly or bear hibernate and fast do that after / in preparation (natural seasonal demand). Again nature assisted. In general body and inside are inversely related. Higher external activity reduces internal activity & vice versa. Fasting is to focus on internal and external activity is ideal to be conditioned (as per system). But yes, Objective leads....Body type and history of training gained plus Objective keeping condition of person is what is criteria considered. Fasting is using space dimension (body / matter) to manage Time dimension (Mind / Energy).

we are beings prepared for lack, go hungry, go thirsty and despite this have to look for food, hunt, fight, find shelter, go cold, go hot... the issue is the brainwashing that they have done to us since yes If we lived this way, in addition to being healthy, we would consume less than half and although perhaps we would die sooner, we would do so healthy and not like now that the last 20 years of life for many people are torture and they are polymedicated, I personally practice 20 hours of daily I fast and during this period I do about 2 hours of exercise without eating anything, cycling and running especially and every day I feel better, greetings from Spain

@TheAbsoloop
3 жыл бұрын
This is misleading. They are not talking about fasting. They are talking about low calorie drinking so exercise is mute. You can just add more “optional” juice. Talk to professional faster, not retreats. It’s a great protocol and normally good content but this video is a click bait joke. You simply cannot comment on fasting and exercise if you include optional nutrition. It makes the conversation meaningless. It’s annoying because they try to be contrarians saying we recommend exercise. They even mention other places that do not recommend exercise. Yes because Exercise while water/dry fasting is a different topic. Normally good channel but I would ignore this video. It’s exercise while eating low calories. They go on to say thst you can waste muscle if you don’t exercise. This is only true if you drink thier optional juice. If you water fast you do not lose muscle. I could go on. It’s all over the place.

@@TheAbsoloop what is the difference if a water fast and the buchinger fast both out you in ketosis and promote anti inflammation? Having a broth or a juice is to maintain water soluble nutrients without throwing your system into shock especially if you're exercising

@@TheAbsoloop drinking juice is still fasting as you don’t drink any fiber. Drinking water and juice still keeps your body in that exact same fasting state. This channel is from the Buchinger clinic. „buchinger fasting“ is very well known and usually includes water, tea, broth and juices.

This conversation is meaningless unless you specify the exact fasting protocol. Water fasting? Juice fasting? And calorific level. It’s completely different excercising on 0 calories vs any calories. Please state what fasting you are referring too when recommend 2 hours walking per day. Thanks

I think you provide great information. But you need to clarify the type of fasting when talking about exercise. A question was asked we need to define fasting. But you didn’t. No need to be defensive. Just post in the comments by the way this is not pure water fasting, we do a low calorie juice fast or what ever it is. Please add it. I am a potential customer as is my brother. This attitude reduces my confidence in coming. She only answers long term fasting, 5,10,20 days. Didn’t mention the protocol at all. I still don’t know if it includes any nutrition or how much. So please be responsible and add it here or to the description. It is VITAL..
