Wonderful video. (And wonderful poem!) Gives me hope that I fall into poem-picture-children’s rhyme book. I’ve been hesitant with my second one. Appreciated!

I’m glad you did this since I have a couple children’s book drafts that use similar imagery in the poetry. One if mine starts like There is wonder in the silver woods Beyond the yellow moon Where stars gaze out on violet dreams And night flowers start to bloom. It was originally two verses but I expanded the poem into a book because I wanted to see it illustrated, much like how you mentioned with this work.

This is beautiful rhyme! I'm curious about the meter of "orange." I've always pronounced it with two syllables but one of my CPs said others pronounce it as a single syllable. Any thoughts on this, Renee?

It's one of those words like SQUIRREL. You can debate all day whether it's one or two. For me it's one, whereas ORANGE is like one and a half. Hahaha. Honestly, the placement of these types of words often dictates how you say them and I don't worry about using them. If we had to account for how every single person pronounces a particular word we'd never get anything written.
