These are actually invasive so catch and cook videos are definitely good!

I caught a Pond Slider, TODAY, in Tuskegee National Forest, on rod and reel with Canadian Nightcrawler. It was beautiful. ~ 8.5" carapace width. (Released.)

I caught one and they are invasive in my area and I can't afford to keep it as a housepet so yummy yummy in my tummy I guess. Enough protein for a post-workout meal. 🤌

Well, it's trapping and hunting. Depending on your viewpoint, all hunting could be animal cruelty, and that's valid. But it's also arguably better than some trapping methods where the animal is mutilated and stressed while it waits for the hunter to find it. So long as the traps are checked regularly, the turtles are hungry while trapped rather than at risk of starving to death.

@@lwardrop2453 I think turtles are (theoretically) too cute to be consumed (all bets are off if my loved ones and I are starving, probably) and culturally haven't been exposed to that but I can see past my bias (for the most part, lol) and understand that this isn't any "worse" than other hunting and trapping or meat consumption in general. Even, perhaps, better than the practice of factory farming depending on how you look at it. What gives me pause is how little meat you get for the effort and for their death. Is there any use for what remains? Are they an invasive species to the extent that consuming them helps the ecosystem? I'm asking you because you gave a recent and thoughtful reply to the original comment so I thought maybe you'd share your thoughts with me as well. It just seems wasteful and kind of pointless to me...

I was searching for a new recipe for my pond babies and find someone eating them. I respect other cultures and there freedom to find the nutrients they need to survive but please rename this video it can be misleading to snowflakes like the young adults in this reptile lovers club who were just scarred. I don't mind you sharing your views (free speech is important) just label appropriately.

After you posted, has the title of the video changed? If the title mentioned "Pond Turtle Jambalaya" from day one, this is a 'video tagging, search query' issue. Unfortunately there isn't a feasible way for a content creator to fix this*. When typing "[Animal] recipe" or "[Animal] food recipe" into a search bar, there is going to be too much ambiguity for a search algorithm to differentiate someone searching for recipes intending as food for, rather than food made out of, an animal. * (This incident is also partially user error, if this is the case, since from the title you hypothetically assumed that someone made a recipe for jambalaya that is reptilian-pet-friendly.)
