Hi All, You guys are the best. I wanted to address the lack of posts. I've filmed a bunch of episodes but haven't edited them. I'm in the long process of moving to a different state. I will be posting again soon. Spoiler: I figured out my nonsense and I show you the details. (lol). Not really a spoiler because that describes every episode.

A HUGE well done! Huge kudos to you for having the character and integrity not to pass this problem on, and to tackle the job yourself. There's so much of the opposite in this world. You're a shining example of manly awesomeness for your son, and you and he, should be righty very proud. Respect. I do hope when I reach my 911 dream I wont have to go through this experience, but thanks to you, I know, if I had to, I could! Awesome work! Funnily enough I am doing a very similar build on an ‘06 997...your channel has been helping me along the way! I had the same problem with the clutch slave, loosened the bleed screw and it went in fine, it is a very strong slave cylinder! I guess you have already fixed the rough idle. I was lucky that mine ran fine first time. Also, to gain oil pressure before first start, you can either unplug coils or remove plugs and spin over so you see that all important needle move off its stop!! Thanks for all the info and support. Great work!

Fantastic achievement, you are an absolute Legend. Start up idle might be a vacuum pipe somewhere ? Or fuel rail pressure. If I don't use my one for a few months over winter, start up can be lumpy and erratic idle as the ECU programs all the different settings. After around a good 100 mile run it gets perfect again. I applaud all your hard work and incredible patience. Keep vlogging different nice locations you drive to in the future.

why not turn it over a few times with the pugs out , or at least the leads off , that way you prime the oil system ,, if you flatten a battery , no odds.

@@997Dad that's actually the worst thing you could do ... as in effect your doing no oil starts repeatedly.. all the force of ignition and no oil then repeat .. but the assembly lube would have been the life saver there ... great set of videos .. and a tidy job for someone who's not at it all the time ... well done.

@@997Dad everyone has their opinion ... my choice is no plugs and build pressure on a new performance engine... in fact I do it that way even on an old tractor engine ... but leave the room keep box off and wait for oil at the too end .. obviously not going to work on flat engines ... just something to keep in mind for the next one ... It's probably a solid 100 hours if its the first flatsix, longer maybe if it's your first engine. Financially it's not going to save much over a rebuild service like RND. Maybe 3 or 4k. But I did it more for the experience.

Hi. Thanks for your videos. I am exactly in same situation as you, I bought 997 3.6 2005, and need completely rebuild engine. I want to try to do maximum my self. Could you please give me any ideas where I can find manual for rebuild engine and all torque diagrams for all engine. Thanks
@997Dad
2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about your troubles. It's definitely tough news to take. I recommend finding the parts diagram, I used this more than the service manual tbh. Soo many tiny parts, where do they all go? Service manual I found searching around 6speedonline.com. I never did find a good torque spec manual for free. SM will have good enough torque specs, google the important ones. Finally, if you are going to DIY get Jake Raby's video series on Amazon. Totally worth it. I couldn't have done it without that. SM isn't enough. It also will save you money by telling where to focus your replacement parts and what tools are useless. Hope this helps ~997Dad
