Hey man. I don't actually know who you are, but for whatever reason the algorithm fed me your video despite me not being a skateboarder or anything. I always think it's cool though when I see a channel or video of your size sandwiched between videos with 30mil views, having a chance to get seen. I find it sort of poetic, like growing grass managing to break through even concrete that you would expect to never allow for plant life to emerge. So I watched up to the point where you finished skating, which was pretty cool to see since that's one of the few things I wasn't naturally good at as a kid (and gave up on as a result), and decided to leave a like and comment to leave some positive engagement. I'm too uneducated about skating to appreciate your further breakdown into the wheels but I'm sure it was dope. Best of luck!

This grove finished is for slides. This finish type is called “stoneground “. This come from the longboard slide wheels. This help to slide and better wheel wear on slides. ❤❤
@Skybij
2 жыл бұрын
Nope you got it incorrect. Stone ground are actually pre broken in wheels. They do it to remove so called "skin" - glossy/shiny surface of a new wheel, which is grippier than worn one, to make slides more consistent from the start.
@HEISTMASTERKING

@@Skybij sorry but you are the one who is wrong, I have been doing downhill and longboard free ride competitions for more than 10 years. wheels with a stoneground finish, not only is the final layer polished so that the break in of the slide is faster, more things influence it, such as the edges of the wheel, but that is another matter. Stoneground wheels are stoneground from the beginning until you get to the core of the wheels. when you spend up to three sets of wheels in one day doing slides you won't know what I'm talking about...

Haven't slid on them yet but have pushed around on them. They feel a lot similar to the OJ Plain Jane Keyframe wheels I had on when I skated the cruddy ground around me. I think if you've skated a lot of 99a wheels the Dragon's will feel the same speed wise but amazingly softer. If you've skated 78-80A wheels they'll feel a little harder.

Very good review video taking many things into account. Would love to see you do a review on the Ricta clouds 92a in comparison to the dragons. Mainly on how they go in street spots, ledges, rails powerslides on asphalt etc. And also at smooth skateparks to see what's gripper or slides more or maybe slips out. I found the Ricta 92a grippy, slower and less responsive in smooth parks but fast and smooth on asphalt and powerslides pretty well. And so nice to just keep going and going without pushing. Unfortunately the dragons not available yet in Australia. Keen to try them out. Especially having 45 yr old knees.

Excellent review, 1 thing to add. I’m cresting 50 years old and have been skating them for several months now. I’ve been powersliding nonstop and they do wear down a little faster than other wheels. Glad you commented about the skatepark. I have a hard time trusting these wheels at the skatepark. They slid under me on transition too many times causing some heavy slams. On the street though they are awesome! i don't really care what "sound" a wheel makes as long as they perform well. Trade off for sure but nonetheless everyone should have a pair of these in their bag.

I think the glossy finish / first layer of material is like that for almost all wheels though, so I don't quite understand that complaint at all. Even the Ricta Clouds 92a had like an initial layer that was fairly soft and designed to wear off quickly, to allow for powerslides a more regular way. The Bones Rough Riders also have the same. And actually kind of slide insanely well for their durometer. I too would probably like the Dragon wheels, but can't currently order them anywhere in Europe... I generally don't care what sound a wheel makes. I care more about how a wheel shouldn't look dirty, so I kind of prefer the true white wheels for sure also.

Yeah I found the glossy finish was worse on my F4's and lasted longer than Ricta 92's. First time I rode F4's was on slopped rough bitumen carpark and just went to do a carve and the board slipped out and turned me into a pretzel. Those things should come with a warning. Love them for slick concrete bowls better than the Ricta 92a for speed and responsiveness but love the Ricta 92a on the asphalt basketball courts around here. Find they powerslide pretty easy to.
