DP will do exactly the same as he did for us (Cas) - he’ll give a few great years but at a massive cost for the future. He will always ignore young, local talent to chase quick success - look at your recruitment already, he’ll destroy your youth. In my opinion, we both need each other - a strong Cas and Wakey are good for each other but don’t let this guy take the money buying a team that ignores your lads - I can see it happening.

Time will tell but I agree about both Cas and Wakey needing each other. Also, super league needs the smaller clubs like Cas & Wakefield. You guys have turned the corner and picking up a couple of wins even if you did allow Dull to came back at you. See you in 2025

How's he ignored our young local talent? he's given more opportunities than most of our coaches have in ages. Pratt's come through the Academy and turning into a quality SL player and Powell signed him on contract when he first came. Then he signed our academy star, England junior international Harvey Smith on a deal soon as he turned 18 practically and he's still playing for the Academy when not turning out for the first team or the reserves. Doyle's a young fairly local kid that's played fantastic this year, whether starting or off our impactful bench. Croft's played well when given a chance but he's been behind Pratt and Thornley but Thornley won't be with us next season, that's why we've been after bringing back Corey hall as well. He's brought in 2 young lads in Lawford and Booth, who are gradually getting experience even though they're both behind better players atm but they're both getting game time. Booth played this game because Jowitt's out and has been a constant in the team sheet all season practically. Lawford we paid a fee for from Bradford, so Powell rates him highly for the future. He's played in the first team several times and out on DR & tends to come in when Gale's injured and his obviously being lined up to be his replacement. But he's still young and a bit away from handling every game even at this level but halfbacks take time to learn the game. We've got the likes of Issac Shaw, a good second rower who's out on DR, with Joe Law another up and coming center with him. The guys that have been brought in have been mainly middles, because as anyone that follows the game knows there's a derth of them even in SL especially British. We've been lucky, as well as some great scouting to bring in guys like Rodwell, Caleb, Bain, Vagana etc who nobody had heard off but are all SL quality players. As for our recruitment, I'm looking at it and what's the problem? We've got our youth signed for next season and now we're signing some extra quality to make us competitive for SL. Apart from who we've already got on our books, several will be retiring like Ashurst, Gale, Pitts, probably Griffin and Thornley. So apart from replacing those lot, we've also got to find more to turn this team into a competitive SL team. So we've brought back one of our own homegrown players in Johnstone, which makes financial sense, as well as he wants to come back and we've signed McMeeken, as you lot know he's a fantastic British middle and has grown into one of the best Props in SL, apart from that what's wrong with our recruitment, what's going to stop the young players we've got coming through exactly? You seem to be blaming Powell for the problems you've got now, even though you've been through several coaches and he left you at the end of 2021, finishing 7th. A few great years, he was with you lot for what over 8 years and took you from bottom of the table, after Millward got the boot, with one win out of 18 tomaking you a top 4 side, involved in finals etc. The next season taking you to Wembley, fighting it out at the top of the table and then further consistant success, making you a competitive top 4 side that saw a grand final, top of the League, even in his final season he took you to the CC final and finished in your lowest position with him 7th. He did it with guys you had like Clark, Shenton, Holmes, Millington & brought in Gale from Bradford and McShane from us, plus some decent signings from abroad and home, he turned Cas completely around, in no time and you didn;'t have a poor season with him, even when you had a load of injuries. Your recent problems have been down to the fact, like we've did, you spent bugger all on your squads, starting when radford took over in 2022 but especially 2023, and this year and you've made some poor signings. Nothing really to do with youth, it's been a recruitment failure since he left and a complete lack of resources.
