Sadly, from research that I have been able to find, Power Heads closed up shop sometime in 2013. I believe the last name on the gentleman's name working on this is "Canfield".

Love the simplicity of a carburated mod motor, one that makes that kind of power on pump gas and low compression is a great accomplishment.I see many people wanting one of these beautiful packages.

I would love to see the boring 350 Chevy engines installed in beautiful ford hot rods replaced with beautiful ford engines like this. I would go to hot rod shows and races more and therefore support the hobby more. Seeing chevy engines in ford vehicles made me lose interest...

Couldn't hear to well. How much HP @ RPM? Have you modified it for more HP? I'm certain with DOHC it will go much higher.

Fyi...I owned a '70 Mustang Mach I with the Cleveland 351 4 barrel engine (the 2 barrel engine had much smaller valves) in '74 and converted it to mechanical cam (crane...don't remember the lift/duration numbers but they were sizable, but the engine was still very streetable) with an edelbrock intake, holley 850 DP/mech secondaries, and hooker headers and she dyno'd at 450 H.P....just sayin.

Where's this fantastic engine these days. Especially with the Billet Tunnel Ram . With 11.1 or 12.1 with coils near Plugs , crank trigger Ignition, Aluminium Block & say 441 cu inch engine on a 9.5 deck height & u would see 👀 1000hp , & maybe a little more . 😅

Dyno them with as in car exhaust why? cause i love how my Cleveland idled & pulled when in heavy throttle like this but you wont hear the motor only loud exhaust. The 4 things i used to tune the motor, my ears, my smell of the exhaust, a vacuum gauge. feeler gauge for point initial change then the timing light. Mine had 186,000 on it heads never off did redo bottom end & cam, lifters, seals & a Cloye's set. No nylon sprocket if age heat brittle are the real bad part if old. Also a upgrade to a Boss 351 Distributor I got connected to with a exact NOS cam that was not the cam they altered later further by changing timing index & more.

That's progress my friend. The current Coyote V-8 is a much more advanced design than the original 4 valve, DOHC modular 4.6/5.4 V-8, which is why it makes much more hp and has potential for even more than the older family of modular engines. A great mechanic can only get out of an engine what the design of the engine allows him to do.

I look at it this way Those are a lot of adjusting lifters if solid, Boss 351 had a higher compression around nearly a 10 to1 It sounds street ready for a Fairlane, Torino & when you say i love you girl & your girl says i love you back is it to the motor or your girl she will not know because the love is similar & when you put your foot in it, you will hear both purr. All 4bbl Cleveland's had canted valves for both hydraulic & solid lifter valvetrains. the 73 though were 2bbl head variety with a 4bbl carb.

@@jmurphy1973 I never claimed them to be 2.19" intakes & 1.71" exhausts is the reason for them being canted with the block strength in mind.

OMG so many stupid people in these comments. This is a Ford modular motor designed to look like the old cammer engines. It's called a boss 351 not becuase boss just means best engine at the time. Ford even made a boss series of mod motors ffs. It looks like a cammer it sounds tough and would be cool in a mustang or a old ford. And for those that don't have access to a device with volume control it has over 500hp.

+Durham Porsche There is only 1 "Boss 351", 1 "Boss 429", and 2 "Boss 302"s. Everything else, no matter how great it is, is simply not a "Boss"...the name coined by Larry Shinoda. I'm quite familiar with Boss engines (all Ford engines actually, I grew up in Dearborn, MI in the 60s and 70s and my father worked at Ford for 47 years). I have a Boss 351, and a 72 H.O. as well. Isn't it crazy how many folks will slap a set of Boss 302 stripes on a Mustang, and call it a "clone"? Regardless of how nice a car it is, "clone" means an exact duplicate...

This engine will make more power at any equitable stage of modification than a 6L pushrod "hemi",that's not even a real hemi.A 2V will not outpower a 4V at equal displacement. The real 7L hemi of old could not outpower the 7L Ford cammer and Chrysler knew it.Prepped cars for NASCAR were boycotted and weren't allowed to race for more than one reason, but the real reason was they would have dominated by design.
