Wow again Rusty! So now I realize that the classic 5 caged shapes for the pentatonic are essentially a MEANS to an end not the end as everyone thinks and sadly are TRAINED. I love this channel bro! ROCK ON! P.S. one big beef I’ve had with ALL other trainers is they never tell you HOW they know which shape (or chord) they are in at any moment in time especially when you are flying up and down the neck. This way it strikes you like a lightning bolt and your caged grip is there. Bam! I’ve been trying to determine the best way to mix triad (2nd inversion) playing with pentatonic for way more interesting hybrid playing. This is definitely it. The diagonal (extended) pentatonic.
@rustysguitar1

I use elements of the CAGED but that’s just one way to visualize the fretboard. Many players use the triad method. Thanks for your feedback. Talk to you soon buddy 👍

As an older player that is trying to break out of the Am Pentatonic that I now can solo over the entire fretboard (finally!) hardly without thinking about it (almost!), you have shown me where I want to go next. Thank you...!! Love your very clear teaching style!

Sounds like you’re really having fun with your guitar! Once you start improvising, you will be addicted to it. Lots of fun! I’m glad you liked the lessons and have a great weekend.👍
