I bought these after watching this video. They are worth buying. They are excellent, best way to time your device. Times three Surefire flash hiders and all three I only needed one washer and was really easy and way better than the ones that Surefire gives you

I love those washers. When I'm messing around changing optics or irons I do a bore sight check with a Site Lite laser. It goes in the muzzle. This works with some muzzle devices and not with others. I was going through a few crush washers. These solve that. Find the right one and use it repeatedly.

Excellent kit, I bought one about 3 years ago and I’ve only used 4-5 of them, but boy are they handy. Love the idea of how to organize them, I’ll be sure to grab a handful of empties and a couple 2x4s and make the same design. Thanks for the review and idea Chad 👍

I put mine on a bolt between 2 fender washers in order from thinnest to fattest. I am not a Smith or Armorer so I only assemble every few years and it keeps them organized in my AR Tool Box

Used those as well. VERY useful. For suppressors, I try to make sure to use as few as possible and rocksett the threads on the mount.

I’ve always just took my stock muzzle washer and rubbed it on a stone to take a few thou off of it until the muzzle device was clocked correctly. But I guess these are nice

The organizer has much style, but don't trip. If you need them a lot, a carrying case with a compartment for each. Either labelled on the outside or directly in the compartment with a label maker. If you got a lot to order it may even make sense to add a bar code or QR code to make an order or get a list ready. Is there a video where you show them in use and when you have to use the stacking ones?

Can these be used for suppressor use? Or do they suffer from the same issues causing misalignment with crush washers?
@TheReinman44
3 жыл бұрын
Definitely, the tolerances on these are very tight and they are not designed to conform like a crush washer is. Alignment is perfect.

These shims not having a chamfer to accommodate barrel shoulders is a major oversight.

I'd like to hear your opinion on the single peice gas rings for the bolt. I had a 10.5" barrel upper that would eat regular gas rings up. The single peice one seems to be holding up.
@gorps

He doesn't like them. There is likely another issue causing your gas rings to fail quickly. What buffer spring are you using?

QUESTION! I've used these successfully a few times, but also have had a few times where I couldn't get proper torque no matter which washer I used. For example, timing a muzzle device required 45+ ft-lb of torque and I wasn't even timed yet. I tried applying grease or oil like the instructions said but it made little difference. So I dropped down to the next sized washer and only could get about 10-15 ft-lb of torque before the muzzle device was timed. What am I doing wrong?
@SchooloftheAmericanRifle
3 жыл бұрын
15-20 ft# is optimal for accuracy. 15-20 requires rocksett to stay in place though.
@z50com
2 жыл бұрын
I find that you can sand down a standard crush washer to get the correct timing. The most you'll have to sand down is .035 I use 400 grit wet & dry
