Nagarjunabhra Rasa
It is a very useful medicine in various types of heart diseases and respiratory diseases, especially chronic heart failure, ischemic heart disease, chronic respiratory disease etc. It is comprised of Abhraka Bhasma (Calx of Mica) and Arjuna Kashaya (Decoction of Terminalia arjuna). There are very few ingredients in it, so easy to procure. Once properly triturated it is very effective in clinical practice.
Ingredients
1 Abhraka Bhasma (Sahastra Puta) 100 g
2 Arjuna Kwatha 100 ml X 7
Method of preparation
1. Prepare Decoction of Arjuna bark in eight times water and reduce to 1/8.
2. Take Abhraka Bhasma in a mortar and add Arjuna decoction gradually and triturate.
3. Dry all the material and again triturate with fresh liquid. Repeat this process seven times.
4. On the last trituration, once the material starts forming a bolus that does not stick to the walls of the mortar, take it out and knit well to form a dough.
5. Make threads, cut in uniform pieces and roll pills of 125 mg size.
6. Shade dry and store in an airtight container.
Dose
125 mg - one to two tablets once a day empty stomach in the morning.
Mode of Action:
Nagarjunabhra Rasa is especially useful in debility if the heart and lungs. It increases the contractile power of the heart, blood supply through coronaries, improves functional capacities of lungs, also heals the damages in the lungs.
